Right now there are only about 170 votes, but it is evenly split at 50%-50%. (Which speaks volumes about this town)
For the record, those who support the judges decision are basically saying that the boys did this to get a reaction. They were acting in a provocative manner by dressing that way.
To me, that doesn’t make a bit of difference, but that’s how people who feel differently than me justify their conclusion that it’s okay to disrespect our flag...because those boys were being mean.
They just don’t get it. And I doubt they ever will.
Just think about this.
One of those kids could have a family member fighting in a war zone to defend the flag the kid was suspended for having a picture on his shirt.
That it was Cinco Mayo is not relevant. This is America not Mexico. Those of Hispanic descent are free to celebrate their the day and no one was stopping them. That they would be offended seeing an America flag in America is just silly. The school administrator that suspended them should be fired.
