I had a conservative uncle who committed suicide at age 65 rather than collect SS. He was forced to retire and had no other means of support. And he payed into the system for 40+ years.
She has been pulling this for a while—same woman had her story in the paper a year or two ago. She gets help but it it never good enough or she breaks rules and such.

Unfortunately, we seem to be caught in a detail oriented, unintentionally (or intentionally )programmed infinite loop and no one seems to know how to hit the Ctrl-Break buttons!
Even worse, we have those on the left screaming we should NEVER hit the Ctrl-Break combination, because we don’t know what will happen!

It is more than months old but I think she is at it again (new version of old story). she gets some news coverage and the pity handouts will flow like milk and honey on top of that welfare.
The children need to be removed, they are tools of her scam-artist ways. They deserve better. She should be made to work and pay child support, too.

My husband paid into SS from the age of 16 to 51. He passed on at 51 and never collected a dime out of the thousands he for forced to pay by the government.
If that money was put into something like a 401K or Ira early on, he would have had investment during the fat years of the stock market and ended up with well over a million...when he took a buy out from Ameritech the money in his 401K plus company added to it, he had over 1/4 million in benefits that including his buying stock from the company for decades... If he had been allowed to invest his FICA it would have been millions...I inherited almost 1/2 million without SS All went into an IRA via a revokable trust. Now the government is telling me how much I HAVE to take out yearly from my IRA. I do collect as widow's benefits from his SS but with a 30% discount due to taking it before the age of 65. Wise investing after he passed did well for me...Over 20 years I have been living off those investments and only recently have touched my original principal.
When my father started to collect SS he was embarassed to get money from the government...his generation (born in 1901) didn't like hand outs but he HAD to take it no choice. There was no refusing SS allowed.. He generously gave money to his grandkids for no reason at all...usually his SS payments. He had retired with a pension at 50 and went into his own business until 65. Lived modestly, like myself...his one splurge was his big T Bird. When he went into business as a contractor for hanging door and windows, he had to pay SS taxes. and that is what he collected on. Working for the city of Detroit, he never paid SS (or FICA taxes) because the city had their own pension plan.
Not everyone pays FICA taxes so they don't collect SS Tell the government you don't want to pay your FICA taxes and let us know what prison your sent to, we will send you sympathy cards....
By the same logic, any public employee receiving a pension is also stealing. Given some of the pension-inflation scams, there's more weight that could be given to the latter assertion.
In years past, they didn't have to. Now the government can go after the father for money the government paid to support his kids...they can also go after the father for past payments made to the mother..
..all those that don't like SS blame the government that made it mandatory. Not the people that were forced to pay FICA. Yell to congress not to us old fogies that had to pay for decades into a program that took the money and redistributed to their friends for buying votes...

Lots of things. The new scam is Social Security Disability, where if you're "disabled" you get a check. If a kid is labeled learning-disabled, mom gets a check, which creates an incentive to have the kids act like maniacs in school so they get labeled "disabled". Then there's food stamps (about $200/mo per person (times 15 for this woman), Section 8 housing, etc, etc.
It would be great if Medicaid paid welfare mothers a $3K bonus to get sterilized (plus paying for the procedure).
Careful, this is beginning to wander into the territory of early 1900s progressive eugenics programs like those advocated by Planned Parenthood and Margret Sanger.

The solution is to have stopped payments 10 kids ago. If a woman is on welfare, the agency should help go after fathers, assuming they are not in prison. But no more services or pay for more kids after going on the dole.

For the most part, the fathers of welfare kids are unlikely to have jobs whose wages could be garnished.
However much some people might want go after the dads, the only thing that will WORK is to make the mom's life as unpleasant as possible.
