Pictured: 'horrible' woman steals flowers from boy's grave

Police are hunting a woman who was captured on camera appearing to steal flowers from a schoolboy’s grave.

She was photographed at the grave of 11 year-old, Robert Stringer, who died in a car accident in 1980, after the boy’s family installed a motion-sensing camera in a tree.

It followed a string of thefts of floral tributes at Rippleside Cemetery in Barking, Essex. His family have released the pictures in an attempt to track her down.

Steve Rose, 37, of Walthamstow, east London, who installed the camera, said: “I was only six when he died. My aunt, who died two years ago, never got over it.”

“We have left signs asking them to stop stealing but that didn’t deter them. It’s just callous.

"Robert was a lovely lad and it was a terrible tragedy. Potted plants and baskets started to disappear on a regular basis.

We had a degenerate do this here in Utah. The cops installed a ‘Low-jack’ device into some knick-knacks and tracked the scum-bag to her home. She had been gathering ‘goodies’ for years from cemetaries, and then giving them away as ‘gifts’.

Seems like in today’s world, anti-social degenerates are becoming the new ‘norm’.

Maybe she’s just your everyday Marxist/OWS protestor/Obama woshipper who is redistributing flowers so “everyone has their fair share”.

We had a group who would do that here. Take the flowers after funerals and then sell them in bars later that evening. Made me sick and I would call them out when I was present.

Had this happen at the Graveyard where my father was buried, but it turned out not to be what you'd think. It seems it was actually an older lady that thought she was doing her part to “beautify” the cemetery by collecting flowers that were starting to wilt or decorations that were fading. I think the Cemetery management finally told her to let the family members to make that decision.

There’s a story at that link about Hanoi Jane and her appearance at 73. Comments are enabled. At least one comment was about her treachery. You may want to “recommend” the comment.

We can’t remind the bitch enough that we haven’t forgotten her treason.

What do you expect from a society where most people are on the dole. She is just taking what she perceives is rightfully hers. Judging by the size of her luggage, that ain’t going to be her first shopping stop.

They are really into flowers at gravesites there.

No, it’s not right but she’s probably a poor woman who doesn’t have the money to place on her relative’s grave. The road is right there so she parks her car or has walked up the drive, sneaks some pretty flowers at the boy’s abundantly flowered site thinking no one would notice a few missing and walks on down the row to what is probably her recently deceased husband’s grave. Do a few fake flowers really constitute wasting tax dollars to get the cops involved? The relatives should just talk to her and find out her story.

Nearly everything I’ve ever put at my daughter’s grave site (wind chimes, pinwheels, flowers, etc) usually gets swiped within a week. It’s incredibly sad.

I think either one is appropriate. In American English, we tend to use the singular form of the verb following a collective noun where in England the plural is used.

I'm afraid this happens much more frequently that what this photo shows. Inconsiderate grave visitors often take flowers from one grave and put them on the one they are visiting.

I use to live across the street from where Jimmy Hendrix is buried. Degenerates visiting his grave would blanket the area with empty booze bottles and cigarette butts, and of course they would remove flowers from other graves and deposit them on Jimmy's.

Same here with my son's grave, not so much these days as they moved the office very close to his gravesite.

The cemetery folks seemed to think it was people who redo the fake flowers, make into Memorial Day wreaths and sell them on the side of the rode.

HINT for protection: I used to mark every petal with a black felt marker pen, with his initials. OR, I would take a HOLE PUNCH and punch each petal. Can't re-use those and it don't show from a distance.

‘and sell them on the side of the rode.’

:-D I think we have a winner for the most creative spelling of the word ‘road.’

Our local paper had a story in it yesterday about someone stealing urns from the local cemetery and selling them for scrap. The more I know about people, the more I love my dog.
