Blaming budget cuts, the Obama administration early next year will cut the number of National Guard troops patrolling the U.S.-Mexico border by at least half, according to a congressman who was briefed on the plan.
The National Guard said an announcement will be made by the White House “in the near future,” but Rep. Duncan Hunter, a California Republican who has learned of the plans, said slashing the deployment in half is the minimum number, and he said it will mean reshuffling the remaining troops along the nearly 2,000-mile border.
In California, that will mean going from 264 Guard troops down to just 14, he said.
Mr. Hunter said the pending cuts are another reason Congress and President Obama should revisit the automatic defense spending reductions that kicked in with the failure last month of the deficit super-committee to reach a broader spending deal.

The National Guard belongs to the several States. Unless they are Federalized, they remain under the command of the governor.
The cost of keeping Guard units on the border can be offset by confiscating all the drug cash taken from the mules and coyotes. Current practice says to burn the cash (stupid system).
Just shoving it to the southrn states. Lets call it the Gulf war....

Since we are reducing the number of National Guardsmen in California to 14 , maybe we need a new banner to declare that “Mission Completed” in the War on Drugs, especially since the most sophisticated drug transport tunnels have been found there .
I sure am glad that the DEA is helping launder cartel drug money so they can see where it is going , and how it is being done . I never thought that ‘my government’ would be involved in such a transaction as a “study”. Don’t they use already educated and trained accountants anymore ?
Whatever happened to “protect us from enemies , foreign and domestic” ? Aha ! That must not be a border issue !!
obama has just told us that protecting us is WAY ABOVE his pay-grade.

Outrageous, right? Sure.
Surprising?
ONLY if you still cling to the less and less likely notion that the highest levels of US leadership is NOT cut-in on the profits of the drug-trade.
If instead you accept the premise that Barak Obama is secretly one of the Drug Kingpins, then ALL of this suddenly makes sense.
He wouldn’t have to sport snakeboots and a nickle-plated .45. His own over-worked cops lower on the Totem pole would not need to know.
He’d simply put out the word that for a price he and his homies would make the Drug War ineffective and his crew would collect their filthy loot.
The people are starting to realize that the political class in Washington D.C. could not care less about doing its Constitutional duty to protect the states from invasion & the courts have not ruled that the States have a right to do so when the Federal govt. refuses to do its duty .
So first thing on the agenda must be a Supreme court ruling that states that the individual States have the right to defend themselves from foreign invasion . My advise is don’t hold your breath on that one as the courts are in Washington D.C. .
Second item on the agenda is to make the laws in the border states with regard to use of force in-line with those in Texas ie if you are on someones property after dark it is presumed you are up to mischief & may be subject to lethal force.
Does anyone really think that California will go along with that? Only if you think they are gonna get a foot of snow on Guam.

I do not think that this is about votes. It is about destroying our nation.
It could not be more clear that that is the agenda.
