Nap pods and rock-climbing walls are fun, but what really makes a great company are the simple things: good people, good opportunities, good pay.
Two consulting firms, Bain & Co and McKinsey, beat out the trendy tech companies on Glassdoor's annual ranking, which is based on anonymous employee reviews.

#24 SAP America
Company rating: 3.8
CEO approval rating: Jim Hagemann Snabe and Bill McDermott, 85%
2011 ranking: Not ranked
PRO: "Can make great commission (sales). Company does not cheap out on its investments including training and conferences etc. The company is currently in a major push for growth & innovation which is exciting from sales front "
CON: "Like most large corporations, inconsistencies in how persons are selected for career advancement can have negative connotations. Roll-out of internal programs / changes to process lacks execution and over-sight from the persons the changes actually affect [creating less efficiency and negative morale in many instances] when initial drivers came from good intentions."
For any tie breakers, we used the CEO approval rating to find the winner.

What's going on at Procter and Gamble, Dog's sleeping with Cats?
>> PROS:... The work is never monogomous... What’s going on at Procter and Gamble
When they say “Pros”, they really MEAN “Pro’s”.
The company brothel is in Bldg A right behind the cafeteria.
Honda should be on that list. I have a friend that works there and the perks are great and their support of education and family is superlative. Especially for kids with disabilities, etc.
I didn’t know we still had 25 companies in this country...:O)
"Sorry, hon, but I have to work overtime. Again."
Where I’m at is pretty awesome. The week between Christmas and New Year is a holiday, vacation time MUST be taken (no use it or lose it, just USE it), haven’t worked over time in 6 years. Raises are a little hard to come by right now, but they’re taking advantage of the market, they even outright said it, which some folks saw as kind of rude but I found refreshingly honest.
I didn’t see Koch Industries mentioned...
Bain and Company...Romney’s old buddies?
RE: Bain and Company...Romneys old buddies?
Yep, the same one. Now ranked the NUMBER 1 BEST COMPANY TO WORK FOR IN AMERICA. Go Figure.
Spellcheck is often the enemy.....
I’d take a pay cut for a nap pod!
Well, at least Mitt won’t have to worry about going to work for a bad company when his current endeavor doesn’t work out.
