Anyone else spending Christmas Eve alone? (vanity)

Merry Christmas everyone! My sincere hope is that all of you, each and every one, will have a joyous Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Just wondering if any others out there are spending this sacred night solo.

Besides my trusty Boxer, Django the Wonderdog, and a new edition to the household, a gorgeous long-haired black cat I have dubbed Jackson, I have the house to myself all evening and night.

Tomorrow, it will be family wall-to-wall at mom's house, complete with gifts and an excellent multi-calorie dinner. But, tonight, I'll enjoy a quiet supper and a nice cappuccino, watching "The Muppet Christmas Carol," and maybe "A Christmas Story." Probably turn in early.

Anyone else in Freeperland alone tonight? Just curious.

Well.
Those were depressing.

The first video is obviously a backyard “greeder” and that seriously substandard bitch had NO business -ever- being bred.

Horrible conformation, the pups’ “rust” was more of the dreaded “circa 1970s” wheat color and some even had the long-gone white chest markings.

The second litter was marginally better but the bitch had “loose” paws and the pups were already exhibiting that physical flaw.

Infuriating.

Just because you have two Dobermanns does NOT mean you should make puppies.

Crap breeders like them caused the genetic decline of the breed.

The create and sell heartbreak.

At 8 weeks, the pup you see is the dog you'll get, guaranteed.

I know what you mean about getting another dog. We lost our last dog on Pearl Harbor Day in 2010. We tried to adopt a shelter dog a few months ago. One hitch: another of our dogs used to bring kittens home. At one point, we had five cats. New dog chased one of the cats. (Didn’t hurt him, just chased him.) Anyway, the cat was so traumatized that we had to give the dog back.
Someday, the Creator will send us a dog. (Always worked before.) :)

Does he ride in the passenger seat beside you? I had a black Great Dane with orange eyes. She loved sitting in the passenger seat. When we were passing a hitchhiker, his face fell faster than his thumb under her intent gaze lol!

Nope.

He rides in the back, safely buckled into his seat belt harness.

[precious cargo and all that]

:)

>> Either 97 or 99 last time he got weighed

I was thinking 90-95. He’s got a stoutly ribcage.

No doubt he’s a joy!

Have a Happy New Year!

“...and start a new life.”

Hey, Darlin’! I divorced last year after 18 years of unrelenting daily stupidity on my ex’s part.

Started a NEW life and it’s a d@mn good one! All the best to you as you begin YOUR new chapter. Stick with us, Kid. You’ll be just fine. :)

And...Happy NEW Year! Luckily, if we screw this one up, through the Grace of God, we get ANOTHER New Year next year. :)

That photo was was taken when he was 1 and his ribcage hadn’t “sprung” yet.

He’s filled even more out since then.

[they mature slowly]

He’s European so he looks “different” from Americanized Dobes.

He’s very heavy boned and sturdy.

I had a hard time finding a service harness for him because he needs one at least 36” around the ribs.

Yes, he my joy, my love, my best friend, my hope, my delight and my reason for living.

Happy New Year to you and yours!

:)

435 posts and almost 4 days. I had no idea.

I must have hit a nerve.

It’s tough being alone on holidays on which you have been accustomed to being surrounded by loved ones.

Guess I’m not as alone as I thought.

Happy holidays.

Diana, it takes the rest of us a while to get to that point.

I divorced this year after 20 years of unrelenting daily stupidity on my part.

I hope the "d@mn good" new life happens to Old Sarge (and me) pretty soon. So far, pretty rough. But God will see us through. He always does.

Hang in there, Old Sarge. We're always here for you.
