This is old technology. You wouldn’t be able to get into your car if your battery died, and you wouldn’t be able to open the engine up to charge your battery.

It is old, yes. But remember the Bricklin SV1 ? “SV” stood for “Safety Vehicle”. It even lacked a cigarette lighter, because Malcolm believed that smoking behind the wheel wasn’t safe.

They came in primary, bright colors to aid in visibility. Large bumpers. Hydraulic doors that would open even if the car was on it’s roof.

But when those doors failed, the hydraulics held them just as shut as you would expect. No one could possibly open them. The pistons formed a jail-cell behind the seats, and the power windows would fail. The driver would be totally trapped. Safety glass, unbreakable bars in the door frames. I do recall someone almost died of heat stroke while stuck in one.
