The Accomplishments of Newt Gringrich

We will disagree about candidates and ideas, but I believe the attacks on Newt are unprecedented. The John Birch Society has pulled out all of the stops to attack him. Bill Buckley drummed Birchers out of the movement because their unsubstantiated theories were destroying conservative credibility. Their strange claims are back and they are once again undermining the credibility of the conservative movement. They were co-sponsors of CPAC. This is disturbing because their theories are outrageous and dangerous. They take disparate people, ideas and events and connect them into inexplicable and un-provable webs of intrigue and phobia. As an example, they have produced a video that “proves” GW Bush planned 9/11. It is pretty convincing, if you are at all susceptible to the nonsense you will come away demanding that Bush be arrested. These people launch implausible attacks by taking information out of context and twisting it. They live in a dark world of paranoia and suspicion. I entreat people who are seduced by the siren song of eerie theories, to please follow the sources. Go back to the original statement or the original event. Find out what others were saying at the time. Does it fit into the historical narrative? Don’t let them convince you that what you see is not what is actually in front of you.

We have a slate of good people, but no perfect people running for president this year. Santorum was my first choice, but he’s weak on economic policy and he just hasn’t been able to close the sale for me. I think he would go along rather than have the courage to insist on changes that must be made. I love Rick Perry. What’s not to love: flatish tax, open oil and natural gas production, zeroing out foreign aid and requiring nations to present a case for any aid we give, eliminating Education, Energy and Commerce, drones on the border, sensible national defense. I love him, but for me he doesn’t have the “it” factor that closes the sale. The 21st Century Contract with America knocks my socks off.

On the first day, while Obama’s plane is in the air over the capital, he will: Remove the Czars Stop funding abortion End the regulations that prevent health care workers from refusing to participate in abortions Order that the American embassy in Israel be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem Approve the Keystone XL Pipeline

He will have a law repealing Obamacare written and ready to be introduced on the first day of his administration by people he will help elect. He will provide an option to choose payment vouchers for Medicare recipients, very much like the amended policy Paul Ryan just introduced. He supports HSA’s for medical insurance coverage. Like the founding fathers, he understands that you can’t impose your will on the American people so he proposes an optional flatish tax. Lower corporate tax, no capital gains tax; write off capital investment the first year. He will repeal the business start-up killer, Sarbannes-Oxley. He will repeal any legislation & executive orders that implement Agenda 21 & ICLEI. He will open oil and natural gas production. He will offer royalty profit sharing with coastal states to provide an incentive for them to allow oil development. He will institute a Pell Grant system for K-12 so parents can choose the schools their children attend.

In short, there is absolutely NOTHING progressive in this plan.

Newt has a long history of accomplishments. He faced down GHW Bush over proposed tax increases; the face-off actually shut down the government. It led Bush to endorse Romney. GHW Bush is the NWO, Agenda 21 president & he does not endorse Newt.

He faced down Clinton, cut spending, balanced the budget, reduced the debt and reformed welfare. He is the only person in modern history to cut the size of government. Clinton said he can work with people to get things done.

He ushered in a Republican take-over of the house for the first time in 40 years; everyone said it couldn’t be done.

The Washington Times has called Newt Gingrich “the indispensable leader” and Time magazine, in naming him Man of the Year for 1995, said, “Leaders make things possible. Exceptional leaders make them inevitable. Newt Gingrich belongs in the category of the exceptional.”

Newt served on the Defense Policy Board under President George W. Bush, which provided strategic counsel to the Pentagon and Secretary of Defense on how to better address threats facing the United States. He is also the longest-serving teacher of the Joint War Fighting course for Major Generals at Air University and taught officers from all five services.

In 2003, Newt founded the Center for Health Transformation to develop free market healthcare reforms to foster a 21st Century System of health and healthcare that is centered on the individual

Newt and his wife, Callista, host and produce award-winning documentary films, including A City Upon a Hill, Nine Days that Changed the World, Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous with Destiny, and Rediscovering God in America.

Newt is the author of twenty-three books, including thirteen New York Times bestsellers.

The attacks were much worse on Sarah Palin, because she’s a conservative.

Jeanie, it's difficult to take seriously a vanity with such a headline. I didn't bother.

Best wishes.

All excellent points.

Speaker Gingrich-led Republicans….the result:

* Four consecutive balanced budgets
* Over $500 billion of debt paid off
* Major welfare reform accomplished
* 11 million new jobs for America
* Unemployment falling to under 4%.

Governor Willard-led.....the result:

Strike one = Romneycare with public option, intrusive mandates, death panel exchanges, and massive federal subsidies including subsidized $50 abortions through Planned Parenthood

Strike two = Flagrantly appointing tons of ulta-liberal judges

Strike three = A pathetic 47th in job creation as a massive business tax increasing governor after first, shipping American jobs to China for many years as a Bain executive

So does Glenn Beck, and apparently some people still think that guy is a conservative voice of reason.

I am guessing this post is either a vanity or a plagiarized blog entry or op-ed piece but when it includes a sentence like this --- On the first day, while Obama’s plane is in the air over the capital, he will: Remove the Czars Stop funding abortion End the regulations that prevent health care workers from refusing to participate in abortions Order that the American embassy in Israel be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem Approve the Keystone XL Pipeline --- why is it worth posting at all when you have not indicated in the previous paragraph who "he" is, unless you mean Rick Perry, or Obama himself?

On the other hand, a stupid mistake in the title should alert us to nonsense to follow.

My brother is retired Sgt. Major U.S. army and he said he tried to promote someone and the army turned it down. He asked them why. They said he put on his recruitment papers he was involved with the Birchers.

I imagine the John Birch Society is backing Ron Paul. He and Birch were pretty the same kind of nut.

Well, the title should have spelled "ACCOMPLISMENTS" with an "h" (accomplis(h)ments). And getting Newt's last name right -- it's "Gingrich", not "Gringrich" would have helped, too. But I'm just nitpicking.

I'm sure Newt appreciates your support.
