I Vow

After listening to Governor Rick Perry on the Sean Hannity Show, I couldn't help but be blown away by his good nature. What a great guy. You can hear in his voice how he has managed to keep his eye on a goal while working with others to achieve it. His respect for his political foes and his understanding of the the whole process inspired me. Naming names and demonstrating professional links to some of his fellow candidates was generous and kind. I'm going to continue to support Governor Perry but I would never encourage him to drop out. He adds too much to the overall debate to just be gone. I disagree with Jim on that issue. I will, however, take Jim's advice and calm down my criticism of other candidates. Governor Perry said they were all good people and I'll take his word for it. May the best man win. Donate to FReeRepublic.

"Perry is a good man."

This above everything. For all the attacks, personal and otherwise to which he has been subjected, his quality shines through. He is a good man.

AS this campaign has progressed, I have only grown in my admiration of him. He stumbled worse than anyone I have ever seen when he started this campaign, but he has persevered in the face of overwhelming odds and he has done so with grace and a good sense of humor . . . even to the point of laughing at himself. A gift few of us have been given under similar circumstances.

If or when he drops out, he can hold his head high with the certain knowledge that he didn't give up as soon as the road got rough.

Newt’s been vetted and, even by MSMs research there aren’t any more surprises in store. You and I agree with Santorum. All the latest polls show him having topped out in Iowa and dropping.

I just don’t want Romney to win and all three (Newt, Santorum, and Perry) are splitting the alternative vote, allowing Romney to walk.

“It is THE CONSERVATIVE ANSWER if he drops out tomorrow.”

Clearing my throat. Biting my lip. (Taking a deep breath as I wonder what an rabid, anti-Perry poster from the beginning knows about anything.) Just repeating I vow. I vow. Donate to FReeRepublic.

Santorum won’t drop out because he is an RNC creature. Remember, he threw his support behind Spector.

And Gingrich supported Dede Scozzafava. Santorum, at least, has beaten Gingrich in both states that have voted thus far. I'm supporting Perry, but want to see all candidates stay in the race thru Florida...and then things can be sorted out. If Perry does finish under 10% in SC, then I would say it's time for him to exit.

“You have absolutely NO idea what “could help conservatism.”

Would you like to expand on that smart guy? You want to show how your last place candidate sucking votes from viable conservative candidates and letting Romney coast in is good for conservatism?

There will be no “thru Florida.” The winner in SC will probably win in Florida, and judging by the calls I’m getting and the signs I’m seeing (Romney and Paul), that will be Romney.

But some 60+%of the voters don’t want him. So those people have got to get together and vote for one opponent, and the only one who can fight hard enough is Gingrich (who is the leader among them in any case). And then maybe Romney won’t win or will win by only a tiny slice in SC, and the race might still be on.

“You are much too easily offended.”

Offended is not it. The point was that he was undermining his opponents and conservatives in general to defend his confiscating earnings from taxpayers to pay for illegals to get cheap in-state tuition.

I support Perry too, but hey. I supported Fred! in 2008. Sometimes the guy whom I think is the pick of the litter just doesn’t catch on with enough other voters.

Unless Perry really picks up steam in SC, I’m afraid it’s time for him to pack it in.

“Would you like to expand on that smart guy? “

Sure. It’s easy. This campaign is young. The more the public hears Conservative ideas from a variety of attractive Conservative voices, the more the lost citizens of this country may buy into it. I think it’s important. For the sake of future generations as Governor Perry always says. You saying you want one of those great Conservative voices silenced for just a chance that someone else may get his votes is absurd. The sorting will begin soon enough. God only knows what will happen. We have a primary process for a reason. We have a convention for a reason. We need to let it work.
Btw, I’m not a guy.

I completely disagree. The public hearing multiple dissenting conservative voices is no longer going to win this primary and then the election for conservatism. Hearing three minority conservative “voices” while the establishment RINOs capture the majority of votes in primary after primary is going to solidify a liberal POTUS regardless of party affiliation. Perry could have plenty of opportunity to tell of conservatism from several other venues, Palin sure has. But don’t listen to me because you believe that I “have absolutely NO idea what ‘could help conservatism.’”

Excuse me you fool. I am sick and tired of the BS nastiness on Santorum. He has more votes than Perry and that blowhard Newt. If anything, Newt should drop out as he was basically last in two voting cycles already.

“But don’t listen to me because you believe that I “have absolutely NO idea what ‘could help conservatism.’”

Whatever. I’m not going to argue who is the best conservative between us. I don’t think there are many dissenting conservative voices. We all basically believe the same thing. I think there are a great many dissenting voices, Conservative or not, about states rights. For God’s sake, if we don’t fight and enforce states rights, what is there? We do need a chief executive who understands that. We don’t have anyone, except Governor Perry, talking about states rights. He’s the whole package having served our country too. There is no way I can change anyone’s mind. He has to do that and if he can’t by just being the best, well, that’s that. You and I have probably said it all. Our brains are just wired differently.

A bit over the top I will admit. The reason people don't like Santorum is because people's morals have decayed so much that having a family values candidate no longer matters. They want the guy with ability to sit down with Nancy Pelosi and speak lovingly about Global Warming, a guy with numerous adultery's and divorces, and a guy who hates capitalism. Very sad situation is gong on. At least Sanotrum is winning right now and has his integrity in tact. Something that others don't have.

The reason Santorum won in Iowa is the amount of negative ads against Newt. Nothing negative against Santorum. That should tell you something. They are not afraid of Santorum. I believe that is for a reason. Santorum will never carry the general and everyone knows it. There’s no way this nation is going to turn that far right in one election.

I’ve felt that way about Perry since an interview I saw him do with Wolf Blitzer probably a month ago. It was excellent. Besides everything else, he has a great sense of humor and we need that after 3 years of the bozo.....I’ve been sorry that he hasn’t been able to move up in the polls....I don’t want to see him go but it doesn’t look good at all.

There’s no way this nation is going to turn that far right in one election.

Excuse me but we did in 2010 with the House. Conservatives make up 40 percent of the population. Santorum gets that and 11 percent of the Independents which he will, he wins. He will also win by the electoral college getting Ohio and Pennsylvania which will guarantee a win. Too bad that Conservatives on here don’t get that. Oh well, I will just sit back and see another opportunity go out the window. I really don’t want to say “I told you so” in November. Having Newt is too risky. He says some really dumb things and his actions are horrendous. I see that I am losing this argument so I will just see where the chips fall and at least I know I will have my integrity and morals in November 2012. That is something that you or anybody else can take from me and I know I can’t take that from you too. You are raised and learn morals from your parents and sometimes they don’t do a good job. Pity but it is true.
