Actually, if you listen to the video she had to take the cat out of the carrier at the security checkpoint.

I guess things have changed in the last few years. I had to transport my daughter's cats when she & her husband were going to Iraq. We left Ft. Riley and drove the cats in their pet carriers to Kansas International Airport. They were taken to baggage claim where the airport crew took over. We didn't see them again until we arrived at our destination, picking them up at baggage claim.

Hey, maybe there's a little kitty TSA somewhere under the terminal!

Pets in the cabin

Our cabins are pet friendly! You can bring your cat or small dog in the cabin with you provided it is small enough to fit and stay comfortably in its carrier under the seat in front of you, and you are travelling on:

A flight operated by Air Canada

An Air Canada Express flight operated by Jazz or Air Georgian

An Air Canada Express flight operated by Sky Regional between Montreal and Toronto City Airport (YTZ).

Wow, didn’t know that about Air Canada. But how do they reconcile that with the new flight security requirements? I assume TSA would always require that the carrier be opened as described in the story. I imagine kitty doesn’t take kindly to some lazy, disgruntled TSA drone poking around in the carrier with his used latex gloves. Doesn’t sound practical.

Her cat.

Her responsibility.

I’ve flown with cats, one had frequent flyer miles.

When I flew with my cat you had to take the cat out of the carrier and bring her through the people x-ray while the carrier went with the take on luggage. Cat goes back into the carrier well before you get to the cabin. My cat was so freaked out about the airport she was more than happy to get back into the carrier.

Miss PG didn’t do the claws out full freak-out thing. Her eyes were just big and she was ultra-clingy. To her the carrier was the lesser of two evils (weevils...whatever. :) )

LOL! We used to always call our cats “tunas”, that is soooo funny. What a cute picture, that kitty looks ready for action!
