This pretty neat, because the attempted kidnapping was caught on tape. Interestingly, the mother of the child was not far away. The alleged kidnapper had been released from prison recently after a manslaughter conviction.

out of curiosity... any idea how much time he spent in prison for manslaughter?

I taught my children that if they were ever grabbed to bite, kick, gouge at eyes, and scream “You’re not my daddy, help!”

I always thought that the danger would be that good people would not be able to differentiate between an abduction and a parent dragging a misbehaving child outside.

Apparently, the mother wasn’t “that” close! Why in the world, people don’t keep close watch on their children is a mystery to me. What could be important than the safety of a child. This world, literally, crawls with filthy, predatory creeps!

Don’t ask why he did it, don’t bother with a psych eval. Don’t bother charging him with “attempted” anything, had he succeeded he would have been guilty of far worse than kidnapping. Just build a big pile of wood, strap him to the top and light it on fire. Then all we have to do is sweep it up.
