Do not worry about the self appointed anti blog pimp pimps. But I would recommend that you ping JustaDumbBlonde, she maintains the gardening list and can help get the info out.

Well, it looks like it will be safe to put the garden in between May 11 and May 29 and to lay down weed control granules in the flower gardens in early May. Now, I already knoew that, but I’m grateful for the reminder. Thanks.

How funny. I was just going through some seed packets and was thinking I better get these guys going in the window or I’ll miss out entirely come April!

Wow, they’re showing a good 6 weeks earlier for the last freeze in Central Texas. Yes, it warms up in March but it seems there’s always a night or two of freezing temps right before tax day. I count tax day and Halloween as last and first freezes.

When I was in the wood business, I figured, we’d have one more freeze before Easter. After Easter, we did not sell anymore firewood. I was also told by a tomatoe grower to put out the tomatoe plants when the Mesquite trees began to bud out.

Thanks Gabz. I picked this up the other day, it's a special extra issue from Fine Gardening mag. Actually, I don't think I'd ever heard of FG.

Right, riiiiggghhht. Usually FG = P(15)-3.5, for good time....

All I know for sure is I've seen it 65 degrees in January and 7" of snow on the 4th of July.

Last year the snowpack was over 200%. This year, no snow, ya know?

Roll the dice.

FG = Fine Gardening. :’)

It’s been one of my favorite winters so far. Could have done without that freezing rainstorm a week or so ago, but there’s no trace of it now.
