National Enquirer posts Whitney Houston open casket

Not that it’s all that shocking, when you think about it, as the shot is reminiscent of the Enquirer front page featuring Elvis Presley’s open casket photo after The King died in 1977.

Did The Enquirer go too far, is this par for the course with today’s tabloid journalism, or both?

I think any aspect of the Whitney story is relevant. It’s a teaching moment to remind people about the dangers of mixing some prescription drugs with alcohol. Benzodiazepines like Xanax and Lorazepam...

I’m hoping the overkill on this story will stop doctors from handing out Benzodiazepine scripts like they’re the only answer to anxiety. It’s too easy to get addicted.

I saw yesterday another supermarket tabloid with the front cover showing her bathtub.

Oh I agree, just wondering why he posted the morbid picture he did. What happened to her is sad. It happens to many people who ignore the known dangers.

Too bad the media didn’t focus on her self destructive behavior before it killed her.

I guess they wanted to see if they could out-morbid National Enquirer.

There was quite a bit of news coverage on Whitney’s addiction. One that comes to mind is the news special on CBS with Diane Sawyer. All the show biz evening shows like ‘ET’, and Inside Edition frequently covered it.
But I guess it just wasn’t enough.

Thank goodness they did not post a pic of her last movement!!!

I suspect that is to come, from them (the N E ) under their heading of “stolen pics” and the follow up ..”Was she a man with tight shorts??”

Don’t do the drugs if you don’t want to sleep with the bugs.

They must have really improved on the way they do autopsies. When they got through with the beautiful Marilyn Monroe, her face had all but collapsed.

The CIA doesn't have much practice doing autopsies.

Since her ex-husband announced over the weekend that he's publishing a tell all book, I'm guessing he's also the source of this photo. Pig.

Probably.
But then it could have been Cissy or Warwick.
They sold footage of the funeral entering the cemetery and one of Whitney’s dresses ‘to help Bobby Christina out’.

Yes, tragic.
I know she did it to herself...but still, she was so young and so talented.
We have no way of knowing the pressures she was under and how hard it is to quit drugs.

Cosmonaut Vladimir Komarov’s remains in an open casket. Komarov died in 1967 during re-entry, when the parachutes on his Soyuz capsule failed to open.
