RIP Davy.

How sad. The Monkees was a must watch show for me when I was in Jr. High . . . excuse me, I mean . . . “Middle School.”

66 is too damn young.

I have a friend who died of a massive heart attack last week while skiing. She was a bastion of health and blamo .... Its over.

Sucks.

Jann Wenner rot in hell...he prevented The Monkees from getting their due and putting them in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Everyone kept telling him to lose his grudge over not liking the fact that the band didn’t play their instruments for real on the TV show...really? In this day and age with half or more of pop artists lip syncing and not even playing instruments?

People have been telling him and the other voters...better get some of these older acts in now while they are all still alive and able to perform and or show up.

Now? It’s over and The Monkees are not in the hall of fame and if they are put in...it will be without their deserving leader there.

RIP Davy.

RIP Davy.

Thanks for hours of enjoyment in front of our very first color TV. The model of the Monkee Mobile I build and proudly displayed in my room. The records I would play and play and play till I drove my sisters mad. For the hair style I copied, until David Cassidy came along and inspired me to push the envelope and my parents just a little bit more. And thanks for the reruns that my own 10 year old son now likes watching.

A little known fact about Davy is he was a drummer. The creaters of the Monkees felt he was too small and would not be noticed behind a set of drums. So Micky Dolenz got the the job as the drummer, while Davy stood out front looking good, with nothing but a tamborine or another musical prop in his hands.
