Colorado Medical Marijuana Users Got the Full SWAT Treatment Because of Their Legal Plants
Reason ^ | February 28, 2012 | Lucy Steigerwald

Further details from KRDO reveal that when the police came to the home previously (at around 10 p.m. on Christmas 2011), Ball and Glandorf showed their medical marijuana cards, but refused to let officers in because they didn’t have a warrant. This, says Colorado Springs police spokesperson Barbara Miller, is kind of dubious:

“If you have nothing to hide, most people would open the door and say, ‘Yes, please come in and and let’s dispel any information you have because it’s false.”

****

And after that, no arrests were made or charges were filed, because the patients were not growing more than Colorado state law permitted after all. Supposedly a handgun was found, but Glandorf denies this. ****

Ball and Glandorf say that "shrapnel" from the flash-bang hurt their dog. Miller is quoted as saying that's not possible because flash-bangs don't produce shrapnel. (She stressed to Reason that she didn't have the technical knowledge to talk further, and she wasn't there, however. She also said that she didn't want to describe the unnamed roommate's previous weapons charge as "a violation." So things are a bit vague at the moment, but Miller's official statement, including on the weapons allegation, can be found here.)

I have my own concerns about the legalization of marijuana. Be that as it may, the police spokesman's attitude about the Fourth Amendment of the constitution is troubling.

In that case, a warrant should never be necessary.

That will sure make law enforcement's job easier.

I have heard that you can lose your second amendment rights if the feds find your name on the list of the medical marijuana customers.

"If you have nothing to hide, most people would open.."

Uttered and concurred with by only the most stupid among us. Not only that but it's one of the most stupid strings of words available.

I'm not talking about the war on drugs, the police, nor constitutional freedoms.. I'm talking about the depths of foolishness to which humans are capable of sinking.

ATF released a statement about that a few months ago, that since marijuana is illegal federally, you can’t have both.

milk is milk.

A mind altering drug that cures nothing is called “medicine”

such a joke

It’s an excuse to get high, is all it is. They cannot admit it. There are now pills with the same ingrediants without the high but that will never be acceptable to the potheads.

Except the pills are so strong it leaves people unable to do simple things, like have conversations that make sense. Smoking allows one to control the dosage.

I also know a couple people who have benefited from medical marijuana. It's been especially great for one of them, as they (once again) go through chemo.

I'd rather they smoke a plant than defend the poisons the drug companies & doctors push on people as "solutions".

I agree. States should just decriminalize it so those who use it don't have to go thru this subterfuge.

When we staretd giving the feds to power to regulate what we put into our bodies of our own volition ie. (Progessive era reforms of the 1910’s - 1920’s till now) we set the dangerous precedent of giving them an inch at a time until they can now tell us what food we can eat or not eat.

For all the people who whine about how Raw milk can kill you, i can go down to the supermarket and buy a gallon a tasty anti-freeze that I can drink and blind/injure/kill myself with it if I want to, they gonna start regulating that to death too?

When we changed “Buyer beware” to “The Government Cares” we lost a whole metric crap-ton of freedom.

[ I have heard that you can lose your second amendment rights if the feds find your name on the list of the medical marijuana customers. ]

And if you are too fat they can take your guns away from you as well. Just ask Mr. Dasarti(sp) from the Dooomsday Preppers show.

Maybe that is how they will start chipping away at the 2nd amendment...... Just claim that because the Governemnt “grants you an exemption to some other contrived crap” they can take away another right.

So you can opt out of Obama care, but kiss your Xst or Xnd Amendment rights bye-bye...

Medical pot is no joke.

It is the fastest cure for brain cancer there is.

My cousin was given up for dead with inoperable brain cancer at the age of 15, but was completely healed in less than a month, smoking 3 or 4 joints per day. (was even allowed to smoke it at school, in the nurse’s office)

The only thing that cures nothing is mainstream medicine and pharmaceutical poisons.

“medical pot” is such a joke

Then the feds must be in on the joke because in 2003 the HHS applied for and received a US Patent for it. (See: US Patent #6630507)

“Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NDMA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in treatment and prophylaxis of a wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants…”

Patently false. Flash bangs toss flaming crap all over the place.
