Ohio: Romney 37, Santorum 36, Gingrich 15, Paul 11

Romney and Santorum tied at 36 among Ohio election day voters, but Romney up 41-34 on votes in the bank

This seems like it could be a key stat- Romney up 40-23 with folks who decided in the last few days in Ohio.

BTW, we often compare SAME polls when deciding what is changing.

THe last PPP poll in Ohio was rather old, January 28-29.

In THAT poll, it was Gingrich 26, Romney 25, Santorum 22.

So, since the LAST PPP Poll, GIngrich has DROPPED 11%, Santorum is up 14%, and Romney is up 12%.

FADING FAST? OK, I know you are all hoping very badly that Santorum loses to Romney, although I still can’t figure out why people who don’t want ROmney as our NOMINEE keep getting so excited every time Romney BEATS Santorum, while Gingrich still struggles in low double-digits.

I’d love it if GIngrich could somehow suddenly have good poll numbers, and actually win contests. He’ll certainly take Georgia. Unfortunately, he’ll need more than a few states to win this thing.

But we could have a brokered convention — that is, if the gingrich supporters don’t get their way, and Romney beat Santorum everywhere.

“Losing an election by 18 points as a 2-term senator would normally disqualify anybody from running again.”

And all the blather from the Rickites can't erase that fact. Granted, 2006 was an anti-GOP year, but, 18%? That's a GIANT, LOUD “F**K YOU” to Santorum.

Like I said a week or two back to someone else, if an 18% loss enhances a candidate, then Blanche Lincoln should be running for POTUS for the Rats, she might help them win AR.

Starting to agree. They expect us to take there side but dont want to debate it.

Newt does not owe Santorum anything. I do not Owe Santorum my vote he has to earn it.

Newt biggest message is Gas 2.50 what is Santorum. What happens if Santorum loses OH then what.

Santorum has a ton of NON-Binding Delegates. The problem is they Can vote for anybody they feal like. Why does everyone think they are so great.

Yes I do, and I'll tell you why. When Republicans run Conservative Presidential candidates, historically they win. When Republicans run Moderate Presidential candidates, historically they lose.

Romney will never turnout the Conservative base. Both Santorum and Gingrich would.

Anyone But Obama

Sorry, but no thanks. I'm getting old, and I've lived through a lot of elections, and I think that I know how this story ends. Voting for the establishment choice (such as Romney) because we "have no place left to go" only encourages the establishment to put forward someone even more liberal the next time. It is the gradual accumulation over the years of the "anybody but..." philosophy that has brought us to this point where we may have to choose between two liberals. It is the fault of those who acquiesced to the lesser of the two evils philosophy year after year until the lesser of the two evils was more objectionable than the greater evil of years past.

Yes, Obama would take us to Hell in a handbasket, but so will Romney--just a bit slower and with nicer seats.

Exactly. Newt has about a 2% chance of getting this nomination. He MAY win GA. That’s it.

Santorum continues to play the spoiler, obsessed with himself and chasing down the devil.

Dan Quayle would have put on a better show than the sweater salesman.

Out of all the tired Gingrich attacks that is the most pathetic. Good news for the struggling Santorum campaign. I hear they may turn one of Super Tuesday’s contests into a non binding caucus where more than three dozen people might show up! There’s hope yet!

Exactly. There was absolutely no reflection on why Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell lost on this site.

Santorum, just like them, is just an awful candidate. Outside this echo chamber, they are just a bunch of clowns who’ve damaged conservatives’ reputation.

A new attack dog got into the fray to attack Rick, a gay billionaire gave money to attack Rick... no wonder the devil is mad his power is slipping away.

Oh, that is rich.

Now Santorum is God's choice?

Don't make me laugh.

Hey dforest. I noticed your guy was flashing a new tan today, lookin good! Maybe if he gets that caffeine affliction under control, he will be able to overcome his brain/mouth disorder, you might then have a decent mayoral candidate in some moderate sized Pennsylvania town.

Newt, Santorium and Romney have agreed to unit behind the nominee to defeat Obama.

ABO

They can unite behind whomever they like, the problem is, if Romney is the nominee, alot of their supporters will be going elsewhere.

We won't be voting for a Progressive Liberal.

I like Newt, would like to vote for him, but the primary objective is to keep Romney from capturing the ‘Romney Wins Ohio’ headlines on Wednesday.

Newt will win GA going away. If Romney wins OH he gets bragging rights and that is a disaster. If he had lost MI he would be damn near out of the race, but Romney squeaked through and won 1/2 the delegates. If he would ha lost by 1% he would still get half the delegates and would have been in BIG TROUBLE.

He loses OHIO and he is in HUGE TROUBLE!

We must keep Romney from winning Ohio and he only viable option is a vote for Santorum in Ohio and a vote for Gingrich in GEORGIA.

I am in Ohio!

Santorum is the official spoiler of this primary.

I hope he's real proud of helping Mitt.

Agree. We all need Santorum to take OH. I fear when the delegates shake out its gonna make MI look tame.
