IIRC, tinker is the medieval term for tinsmith.
Many gypsies are itinerant tinkers. Repairing pots & pans and that sort of thing.

I have no doubt whatsoever that we could make some sort of arrangement wherein the child would be able to live with you. I'm guessing that it would involve 'inviting' the child's relatives to park their fifty travel trailers on your property and for your residence to be the focal point of endless police raids. And you didn't 'really' want to keep any of your personal property or bank accounts at all, did you? No, I didn't think so. ;-)

Yes, but so typical of here from Sweet 16 to the Kardashians to the playboy sluts (can’t remember the names) to the jackass shows, and on and on. UK is doomed as well. This is spread across Western Civilization which is committing suicide. I don’t live in the UK so I only have a back row seat to their extinction. I see the daily wrist-slitting here in the USA.

The Irish republic has been independent of the UK since 1949. Northern Ireland remains part of the UK.
These travellers are not from Northern Ireland. They are from the Republic. Many still have homes over there. Thus, they are Irish. Not British, by even the loosest of definitions.

Hundreds probably, but they retain their distinctive Irish accents, overt Catholicism, and self-proclaimed Irishness. They set themselves apart deliberately.
