There is no natural affection left in some people-even their own children or parents. How sad.

The SOB just kept him barely alive so his checks would keep coming in and the days ‘wondering’ what to do with the body were to make sure the last check got there.

With this ‘warm spell’ that house/apartment must have been ripe.

Killin just to good for some people.....

The story says the wife notified authorities. Why didn’t she call them a lot sooner, for her own sake as well?

(Not defending the horrible son.)

Maybe this guy got permission from Judge Greer?

Apparently it was the opinion of Judge Greer that dehydration and starvation was a humane way to die.

That's kind of what I was wondering. My 84 yr old mother eats all she cares to eat and has plenty to choose from but she barely maintains 105 lbs. Malnutrition and dehydration are often just the normal process of aging bodies that don't work well anymore.

My great Aunt lived through hard times during the Depression. As a result, when she was older she ate A LOT because she could. She was a rather large lady but absolutely hilarious into her 90’s. When they asked her about having a health care proxy and what her wishes were, she said she wanted a DNR but she did not want to die from dehydration as that would be horrible. But she also said if she couldn’t feed herself, it was time to go but it would be her daughter’s call on a feeding tube. She also joked, at 92, if I wake up and I ask for a sandwich, give me one. A year later she was in the hospital and the doctors were asking her daughter about the feeding tube as my great aunt had slipped into a coma. At that minute she
opened her eyes and asked for a sandwich, before closing her eyes and
peacefully passing away. A sense of humor until the end!

This is not far from where Michael Schiavo grew up. I wonder if they’re related.
