Romney is done.

A spoiler, who is damaging the GOP.

He should stand down.

Unfortunately, Romney IS more of what I consider a “real Republican.” Like Rush said, the Repub party is not conservative by nature——it’s a moderate party that barely tolerates its conservatives.

Thanks for asking.

>>...They expect, however, that all the traditional Republican states in the South will fall in line will support Romney in the General over Obama...<<

That’s probably a safe bet. I’m no Romney supporter, but here in Dixie, I recognize that the south is (unfortunately) *NOT* full of freepers. Folks will vote for whoever is on the GOP side of the ballot. Far and away, the biggest motivator is to rid the country of Obama and they will most likely vote for anyone/anything to accomplish that goal. I guess it should not be surprising as it seems that’s how Romney is getting his votes: All I hear is folks have been fed the “most electable” line by the MSM and that’s enough to get them to pull the lever for Romney. I have yet to hear anyone supporting Romney based on his positions... Just that they are convinced he’s “most electable”.

This just reinforces the observation that the MSM wields an incredible amount of influence over the majority of the voting public. We desperately need to increase the conservative voice in the MSM somehow.

You likely are misinterpreting my post. I do NOT believe Santorum can win in any general election. I’m a Newt supporter.

So what you are saying is conservatives no longer can win any
election and need not try. Only mushy liberals with focus group
platitudes need apply. It sounds like we are welcome in the party
but we need not expect to have any say or input. Makes me feel
really wecome.

Does anybody from the GOP-e realize that, overall, the only states Romney wins are those that are “Safe Democrat” in November? Florida and Ohio are the only two exceptions I can think of.

Yes, they do.

IMO the best solution is a dark horse at a brokered convention. And the only way to get there is for Santorum & Gingrich to deny Romney enough delegates.

Can they siphon off enough? I'm not sure.

"Romney is winning Obama strongholds he can’t possibly defeat Obama in during the general election"

Romney-the-RINO doesn't get 1/2 of Republican voters, ANYWHERE. When he gets 40% or more, it's Cross-over Democrats who vote for him in the Primaries, and will vote for Obama in the General.

GOPe don't give a shit about the Country, they care about the Lobbyists, Special Interests, and the Power to control.....using the fools who vote for whomever they are GIVEN as a Candidate.

When a Conservative shows strength, the Smear Machine goes into overdrive, and the gullible BELIEVE what they're told by "anonymous sources", or agenda-driven/paid for stooges who embelish non-stories that can be used to drive the Conservative out.

At this point in the game. The so called “choir boy” is helping us defeat the RINO from getting the needed delegates. Rick and Newt cannot win individually anymore. Their goal and our goal should be to defeat the RINO.

Santorum sure isn't that better candidate so I hope that isn't what you're trying to peddle.

Romney continues to lead the delegate count by far and may still outright win the nomination. However, as Newt says, "A nominee that depresses turnout won't beat Barack Obama."

That's a real concern for Romney but also Santorum where his "big win" in Louisiana had light turn out. Louisiana Secretary of State stats put it around 24% of eligible registered Republicans.

Because R. Santorum is at least somewhat conservative-unlike Romney and certainly much better than Obama. That’s why.

If Santorum runs a conservative general election, he can win.

We know Romney won’t.
