It is pretty well-known among political junkies that Mitt Romney imposed a lot of new fees in Massachusetts to balance the budget without raising taxes.
But what is not well known is how crazy and offensive these fees could be.
Here are the two craziest we could find:
Romney Charged A Fee For Being Blind.[snip] Romney Also Proposed Imposing A Fee On The Mentally Retarded

Bob Hachey, president of Bay State Council of the Blind, said that while the fees were relatively modest, they could have made life harder on blind individuals on fixed incomes. He said Romney's penchant for fees even earned him a nickname.http://www.boston.com/news/education/higher/articles/2007/08/28/romney_oversaw_millions_in_fee_hikes_as_massachusetts_governor/"We renamed him 'Fee-Fee.' He was so unwilling to raise taxes that he was wanting to put all these fees in place instead," Hachey said.
Sounds like Brock Obama to a tee— just worse.. just for the record i voted for newt—lol
Also known as a tax on democrats.. maybe not a bad idea?
Myth Rummy - showing fer shur that ~HE~ is the biggest Ree-Tard in the room, and not fit to share the company of those folks who are a bit challenged.
Oh, Yeah, almost forgot - ~~FUMR~~!
You’d have to be retarded to support this Socialist asshat Willard.
No - the mentally challenged are probably too smart to be fooled by Willard.
~~FUMR~~!
*facepalm*
Didn’t Mitt tell you? There’s a new “posting while conservative” surcharge in Massachusetts.
Joe Biden would have to file bankruptcy under this law.
It's OK. Mr 0b0tt0 will give you a waiver until after the next elexion.
If this had been accepted, Romney would’ve owed a large sum in back fees.
Captain Taxer Etch-a-sketch:
"I bet $10,000 that this thingy is the perfect size.
Tax this thingy, then have some illegal alien
or one of our own Legion or paid voters to
superglue it on the roof of my wifes
second Cadillac
for attention."
Mentally retarded? How about charging a fee on the filthy disease riddens? They are the ones who ALREADY cost the health care system too much!
While it behooves me to state that I have no use for Mittens, I also don’t much object to the idea that people who have to receive special services from the State be the ones to fund those services if possible.
It is ironic that people are calling Mittens socialistic in a thread in which he is decried for using fees instead of being socialistic (as in passing the buck to the general body of taxpayers).
Were these fees for services? Some folks need special classes, some need to be in a group home, some need transportation. Fee for services sounds more like it, not just a fee for being who someone happens to be.
