The convicted crack dealer authorities said mistakenly gunned down a Northeastern University coed four years ago told a federal judge in 2010 during sentencing on an unrelated drug charge that he wanted taxpayers to foot the bill for education to make him a teacher while behind bars.
I think he lives in another world, said Nicholas Payne, whose daughter, Rebecca Payne, was in her Mission Hill apartment when she was shot to death on May 20, 2008.
When Cornell Smith was sentenced in January 2010, he told a judge he hoped the government would help me out as in grants to fund his goal of becoming some type of teacher, you know, outside the box.
I would appreciate, you know, the help in pursuing what I want to do, so instead of bringing the community down, (Im) helping the community become stronger, Smith said, according to court transcripts.
Tara Turner, one of Rebecca Paynes childhood friends, said you cant really imagine Smith ever leading a classroom.
Either he was lying and that was B.S., or if he is into drugs, he has no sense of his actions and what it takes to be a decent person in society, Turner said.
Cornell Smith
One of Obama's "sons"?
It wont bring Rebecca back
But conviction will bring closure, say parents of slain student
And when does he plan to start teaching, when he gets outside the box?
Eff-ing dirtbag!!!
If he feels so strongly about education, I suggest he volunteer himself to be a cadaver for the local medical school.
Yeah, he looks like a genius.
Dallas-Fort Worth Gator, I think that is an excellent idea!
The present day socialist government just might do that.
Heck, he has two of them!
