Great movie-- "Moving drama about middle class English family learning to cope with war. Winner of six Academy Awards--for Garson, Wright, director Wyler, and Best Picture, among others--this film did much to rally American support for our British allies during WW2, though its depiction of English life"

This is the best movie depicting patriotism, honor and belief in something greater than yourself. It was made during WW2 when it was ok to believe in your country and freedom. TCM doesn’t show this often so don’t miss it. Sunday May 13 at 3 pm EST

It's not on TCM every month but it is in their regular rotation and they show it two or three times a year.

As additional motivation to watch it on TCM today, as if you should need any, this particular showing is occurring less than a month away from the 70th anniversary of its original premier in June 1942. Look for Bosley Crowther's review on this site in the first week of June.

Love this movie.

Interesting tidbit: Greer Garson fell in love with the actor who plays her son. They either married or had an affair.
