SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - A cat that got national attention for tipping the scales at 39 pounds has died.
The Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society said Monday that the orange and white tabby named Meow died over the weekend, likely from complications from his morbid obesity.

That IS sad news...but... who was feeding this cat? He wasn’t fixing his own meals. why wasn’t he put on a special kind of diet to take his weight down? Geee.
Dang, that’s a fat pussy.
They should have cut down on the lasagna, donuts, and coffee for Garfield’s next-of-kin.

The owner was some little old lady who died and the cat was left to the animal shelter. Its kind of sad all around.
