Mark Levin rails against Romney camp for avoiding Rev. Wright issue

Yesterday it was reported by Guy Benson at Townhall.com that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the Republican Party’s presumptive nominee, did something he was reluctant to do during his primary fight: He “repudiated” the efforts of a political action committee to attack one of his opponents.

On his Thursday radio show, Levin suggested highlighting Rev. Wright was being “repudiated” because it would be interpreted as racist.

“In the next six months, this campaign, or however long it goes — listen to me, but don’t listen to me,” Levin said. “Don’t bring up Rev. Wright, because the Obama campaign says if you bring up says if you bring that up. It’s racist. Don’t bring up Rev. Wright.”

But that, according to Levin, would be a mistake because it would give insight into Obama’s character. But it is also inconsistent with Romney’s efforts in the past, Levin said.

“Why would you take any issue off the table, particularly issues that give us a look into this man’s character?” Levin said. “And Rev. Wright helps us do that, among other things. I mean, I can’t believe — this would be the same Mitt Romney who spent tens of millions of dollars trashing his opponents in the Republican primary,

Mitten’s father may have been ineligible, but not Romney himself.

I will be going with our original strategy, voting
“delegates only” in my state primary, going with whomever has the most against Romney.

The delegates are the only grassroots left standing to oppose Romney at the convention. The conservatives took a dive, so it may be Santorum or Paul, but Romney deserves a push away from his self proclaimed Progressive views and going along to get along only deepens them in the GOPE.

In the general, I’m going back to the brain of the bunch, Newt.

No Romney, No Way, No How, EVER. Not here. I’m conservative after all and that’s the only way I vote, EVER.

I admire your principled stand, even if it means Obama wins.

I’ve changed my mind, based on the clarity of your message.

Do please remember to vote in December.

I don’t like mittens, but it is what it is.

If the new media wants to vet Obozo fine.

Obama wants to talk about anything but the economy. If Romney talks Rev Wright he isn’t talking about jobs, obamacare & the deficit. This isn’t good. Talking about Wright motivates Obama’s base and let’s the rats play the race card.

I want Obama’s ideas to be defeated not just Obama.

Levin is wrong on this one. Dems want to play in the gutter it is their home. Don’t play on goound of the enemies chosing.

There is no longer even one primary candidate, opposing Romney. Pick a lane.

Listen to your elders, Mitt...

Little late for Mitt to be learning basic life essentials, and developing a true set of values, don't you think?

I'm afraid that at this point, you're gonna get what you get.

Well Winf,
If we get both houses well have a lot of power and even if we don't get both....We can always send Annie over to the Oval Office to pay the Mitt man a visit, when need be, to whup him into shape. Ann'll make sure he sees the light and leads from the right side of the force....If she wants to, Annie can take COL. West with her....Mitt's no match for a combat Marine Veteran, that's for sure. But to tell ya the truth, I'd rather face Alan than ANNIE any day/.....hahahahah.... Also i believe in Redemption...wherever I can find it...and I believe Mitt can be redeemed.....especially with Ann Coulter on the other end of the stick....Bwhahahhaha

Please tell me that was satire. Surely you must have meant Ann Barnhardt. Ann Coulter sold her soul to the political dark side some time ago. She even jumped a shark to make the deal.

It's a story that's been playing out for at least a couple of years, Jim. I'm surprised you're just now hearing about it.

She's not so important to me that I can recall every detail of her fall from grace, but a couple of low points are:

A) Her decision to become the spokeswoman for the national organization of GOProud (gay Republican group).
B) Her early and continued support for Governor Chris Christie, even when it had become clear to most conservatives that he was little more than a moderate, small R republican, without a conservative core.
C) Her on-air, vicious trashing of Sarah Palin with her gal pal, Laura Ingraham.
D) Her endorsement of Mitt Romney midway through the 2012 primary - this, when two conservatives were still in the race.

Search her name on FR and see what you find. You've got to go back some years to find threads in which most posters express real affinity and respect for her. Her stock has dropped like a stone around these parts.

Levin loves to rail... but I think Romney is taking the right path on this.

His Pac (which he can’t control) can get the dirt out on Wright, leaving Romney with clean hands ...

Romney can use his refutation of the Wright stuff against Obama if Obama tries to bring up Mormonism (which he probably will)

I didn’t realize that being a Mormon would be a problem until I saw a lot of Mormon hatred on this forum.

Nobody knows what a person really believes. We only know what he does and how he acts.

Romney seems like a good guy and a good family man.

Moreover, he’s not Obama.

I’m for Romney.
