"The Amateur" to debut at Number One on the New York Times bestseller list

Edward Klein’s new book about President Obama, The Amateur, has already made some news, particularly with regard to allegations that an ally of Obama’s offered the odious Reverend Jeremiah Wright a $150,000 bribe to keep his mouth shut during the 2008 presidential campaign. And the title of the book is a quote from Bill Clinton, who was said to be urging his wife to challenge Obama for the Democrat nomination in 2012.

That’s pretty sensational stuff, but the media has been studiously ignoring Klein’s book. NewsBusters noted on Tuesday that none of the mainstream media networks have interviewed Klein on the air, or offered a serious discussion of his work. ABC News very briefly mentioned the “amateur” quote from Clinton on their website, but that’s about it.

Needless to say, that’s very different from the way the mainstream press treats provocative books about people they dislike.

I guess I will have to make a trip to Barnes and Noble.

Mail order clubs seldom sell or promote these books either.

Amazon? Maybe.

Amazon will have it. I am a sucker for the “free super saver shipping if you spend $25”

Amazon already has almost 500 “reviewers”.

About half seem to be trying to discourage the other half from opening the cover.

They don’t even try to hide their bias anymore. Remember the “gravitas” and coverage every book about Bush got that mentioned something negative?

I do. It was sickening. You would think that Matthew, Mark, and Luke all returned to reveal another gospel. Now a book puts Obama in a negative light and it’s crickets.

I double guarantee that the opening part about Bubba and Hillary has Obama poed BIG time despite how Obama’s spokespeople may deny it

The media bias is just sickening. You know, despite our frequent disappointment (even ire) at Fox News for losing their edge compared to the old days, they’re still the only major network that covers many stories (like this one, the Zimmerman case, Occupy movement and countless others) that the rest won’t, and reach millions of people in the process.

Thanks for the suggestion...I will have to remember to check it out. 425 in books is an easy amount for me.

I have a nickname in our family: “Queen of Bargain Shopping”!

Often the shipping stops me from internet purchases. Some sites include it in all the prices.

I wonder if you pay more or less that way? I do like free shipping days, however. They usually occur at the last of the season sale days for clothing.

If I could afford $425 for books I would end this Freepathon!

I saw it was wrong as I hit post, but too late to change 4 to $!
