Blue the dog doesnt have a home. But the blue-eyed Australian cattle dog has $1,800 in savings, a Facebook page and an air-conditioned dog house.
He also has a lawyer, who is working to get him an exemption from local leash laws so he can continue his free-wheeling lifestyle in southern New Mexicos lakeside community of Elephant Butte, where he was abandoned as a puppy a decade ago.

We live in EB and see Blue virtually everyday. He’s a sweet old dog, living the good life sunning, eating (very well!), and getting plenty of fresh water. We contribute to his food fund every time we fill-up. With the exception of a couple of spoil-sports, everyone here loves Blue and treats him like any other “local.” I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have a lot of time ahead of him, so I wish they’d just leave him alone and let him live out his days as he has for the past decade...friendly, happy, and content.
