Whale Wars Thread - Dead in the Water
AnimalPlanet.com ^

Posted on 06/15/2012 1:42:16 PM PDT by matt04

The Sea Shepherds' scout vessel, the Brigitte Bardot, is slammed by a 30-foot wave, and water is entering the vessel through a crack in the pontoon. The terrified crew issues a distress call to the rest of the Sea Shepherd fleet, but help is more than 20 hours away. Fighting swells and brutal cold, the crew hopes to hold the outrigger in place with rope and straps. If the damaged piece is ripped from its slender mount, the crew fears the vulnerable craft may be torn to pieces.

How long before they are no longer willing to risk their life to save the whales?

These terrorists have been putting the lives of others in danger long enough. I hope they have a good view from their lifeboats as the Brigitte Bardot sinks. Keep those cameras rolling!

Well, with any luck, the bastards will freeze and/or drown, the “Bardot” will sink to the bottom, and we’ll finally be rid of the scum.

Curious if they even give a feces about the whales, or is what they’re doing fun, adventuresome, and therefore their calling.

These guys are marine terrorists. I’m really having a hard time worrying about them when they deliberately put others’ lives in jeopardy.

Does Discovery fund their activities?

What, no help from the whales?

I’ve never rooted for heavy seas, but this time I can’t help myself.

I find that show insufferable and unwatchable.

They harpoon themselves with their own righteousness.

So when a whaler comes to pluck their sorry butts out of the water, are they going to get all high and mighty and refuse on principle?

Won’t the whales help them? Then why are they trying to save the whales?

I can see it now, the Bardot calls for help, and the response they get from the whalers is.....”No Habla” :)

I have no love for the Japanese doing the whaling and I think the Sea Shepherds are a bunch of hoodwinked young adults led by rabid liberals. Has anyone checked out Paul Watson’s new fake teeth ... LOL.

Seriously though, I thought I heard in an interview somewhere that Watson broke with Greenpeace because of an influx of Communists from the Eastern Bloc and they were not true environmentalists but anti-capitalist subversives. However, I could be mixing up my environmental wackjobs.

The whalers should take them on board and then go on about harpooning whales.

Perhaps the most incredible possible irony would be if their ship sunk just as harpooned whale that was missed by the whaling fleet, floated to the surface near them, and provided them the opportunity to drown or to crawl on-board on he harpooned whale carcass until help arrives.
