How far back is the bow fisherman standing? The farther back he stands the bigger the gar is in relation to him.

If he was standing next to the gar with his hand on it the gar would not look nearly as big in relation to him.

It is still a big gar but not as big as it appears.

Fish was 8’ 2” long and weighed over 300 lbs.

He’s got his hand on it. He’s nearly to the side of it. Look at the shadows under it and the stones going back to the piling. IMO, the gar is as big as it appears unless he’s a dwarf.

OTOH, I haven’t looked for creative photoshopping.

Notice where his left foot is? It's right next to the gar's tail. He also has his right hand on the fish. That fish is as big as it looks.
