*vanity* Michael Savage
06-20-2012 | Me

Posted on 06/20/2012 5:32:15 PM PDT by Kevin in California

I've not listened to Savage in some time (I'm a Levin listener now) and tonight decided to tune him in just to see what his take was on the current events such as F&F, the WH leaks, etc.

Well, to my surprise, he's talking about how to drink wine and how much he likes olive oil. Huh?

Does anyone really wanna hear this crap with all that's going on in this country with our lawless and out of control government?

Does Savage have any listeners left?

He always talked about culture and food. His show wasn’t as good when he didn’t.

Savage is an abject moron that will occasionally find himself on the right side of an issue. Anyone supporting Jerry Brown lost all credibility by doing so. If it wasn’t for his moment of clarity with the Liberalism is a mental disorder” quote, I’d wonder if he had a functional brain at all.

He honestly thinks he is a high intellectual. And there are actual people that kiss up to him and make him believe that.

A man as angry as he is has got to have other interests.

He has been talking about Fast and Furious since he has been on the air for the past hour and he is making a lot of sense. Maybe the station that you are listening to is playing one of his repeat shows.

He covered in detail earlier, even the democrat on the committee that claimed she was so offended they are investigating the DOJ...said she should not be on an investigative committee.

also..Is the administration buying time to destroy documents and or create new ones.

My lights did dim earlier. I assumed it was the shredders being fired up.

I’ve tried multiple times to give Savage a fair crack of the whip but he wears me out quickly every time.

His show lacks any sort of narrative thread (other than his tiresome digressions - he’s the only one to have a childhood and/or New York origins, you know). The problem is made worse by its stop-start nature vis-a-vis ad breaks. All radio shows have them of course but his are quite frequent. If you look at a visual representation (i.e. a waveform view) of his show it’s obvious that the final hour (or segment) is pre-recorded and merely tacked on. For all we know other segments are as well.

His rants could be made into 1-minute clips and rearranged in random order and you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. In fact, that may be how his show is actually constructed. Admittedly, listening to someone with an axe to grind with Marxists in academia is entertaining but only for a few minutes.

And then there are the incessant book plugs. Thin-skinned, paranoid and insecure, he refuses to credit the greatest thinkers in the history of Western Civilization for any prior thought on liberty or political science. Instead, he claims (or implies) that every idea or concept expressed is his and his alone. The fact is that a brilliant mind/fantastic writer wouldn’t need to waste a significant portion of his airtime selling his own book - the public would seek it out on their own.

His ‘this is the last book I will ever write’ statement (threat? promise?) has a touch of the Howard Beale about it but without future books to plug how will he fill the airtime?

Savage may be a tad kooky however he is a master of mind theater.

I don’t listen to Savage because he’s a Jerry Brown supporter. I listen to Levin.

Savage is the most relentlessly negative, miserable, depressing person on the air, at least judging from what I have heard of him.

Compared to him, Mike Malloy is a cheerful, warm hearted optimist.

Have you read Trickle Down Tyranny?? or the previous book Trickle Down Poverty??

If not then I suggest you take your multitude of degrees and all of you sanctimonious judgement to the woodshed for a good whipping

My what a perfectly simplistic, immature response combined with the logical fallacy known as appeal to majority.

Who says I listen regularly to begin with?

Having listened to Savage for a couple years worth of lunch breaks (and even worse fare on other radio stations in his timeslot) I think I got a pretty good picture of the guy. And unlike some, I don’t let starstruck hero worship color my opinion.

Bottom line is the man could write the Bible itself. He intentionally gave money to support a far left moonbat to govern California and bragged about it on his show.

Liberalism is indeed a mental disorder.

Nice of you to not mention all of the money he has given to support troops charged by the government on jacked up charges (eg the Hadditha Marines and others).

Savage does not claim to be anything other than an independent. His $500 donation to Brown in a campaign years ago is hardly the “liberal” stance you suggest. Savage’s arguments about borders language and culture not only ring true they are true.

Do I agree with him on everything? Not at all but he is not aas you portrya him.
