Non-seasonally adjusted U.S. unemployment rates dropped from 8.1 percent in April to 7.9 percent in May, down from 8.7 percent last year.
While the recovery seems to be occurring as unemployment continues to fall, not every city is headed in the right direction.
Here are the cities in every state with the largest unemployment rate.

Coeur d’Alene is surprising, I am wondering if a great many unemployed are actually workers that have been laid off from nearby Spokane.

I do not agree. Some of the cities are run into the ground, but not all of those listed.
What are the percentages of black mayors in these cities?

Quite a competition for most unemployed California city. The winner is (drum roll, please) El Centro at 26.%.
Something doesn't sound right here....
...unless the ranking is by gross numbers, rather than percentages.....
Perhaps but Coeur d’Alene is a resort town. Resort areas often take a hit in an economy like this.
El Centro is in the Imperial Valley of Southern California. Its southern boundary runs along the Mexican border, its eastern boundary along the Colorado River, and to the west is San Diego County.
It is the county seat and is overwhelming Mexican, both legal and illegal. There is only one industry in the Imperial Valley, and it is agriculture as the county is the breadbasket of the US. So, employment is highly seasonal - lots of work during the harvest with little in between which makes the unemployment figure near meaningless.
I meant for every city that was on this list. Of course the list is not all-inclusive the way you mean.
I would have thought Detroit would be worse than that. I guess a lot of people just left?

I misread your reply before. Perhaps not all are into the ground, but being the most unemployed city in the state, they sure are not the model of health, nor one the rest of the state wants to emulate.
And generally when you have high unemployment in a city, it’s because it’s run by anti business democrats. They don’t make life easier for businesses.
I like the one of Palm Coast FL...the unemployment rate is almost 12% yet the phot0 is a middle-aged white couple drinking martinis on the beach LOL.

For one thing,they listed Fall River,MA in the RI figures.
