I need a break from the grim news today.
For Aviation enthusiasts.
Do you know Tyson?
Do you know Tyson?
I don’t think there are that many hills or plateaus around Eglin...unless they recently imported them.
I think I can take it in my 160 H.P. RV6A,
I was vectored over Eglin by flight following a few years ago, NOTHING looks like that there.
ZZ on the tail means Kadena AFB Okinawa. The staging area at end of runway looks like the side next to hwy 58 near the water.
Did you see the video?
The image I posted is from out west not Eglin area.
The Thunderbird’s arrive today for the airshow this weekend. That should put a smile on my face on a day with very little to smile about.
Thank you... I needed this.....definitely a “grim news” kinda day...
This video was created to commemorate the 67FS winning the 2011 Raytheon Trophy for outstanding aerial achievement, given to the top air-to-air squadron in the USAF.
“The footage was shot over 1 year of flying with a Sony HD Handycam and GOPRO Hero. The footage was shot entirely by pilots, no combat camera personnel were used. The video was edited with Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD over 2 weeks by Jersey. Footage includes flying and aircraft from both the 67FS “Fighting Cocks” and the 44FS “Vampire Bats”, entirely on location at Kadena AB, Japan. Most of the over water footage was filmed while we were raging like demons from hell in the skies over the pacific ocean like our brothers did 70 years before us.”
The guy that sent me the video link said it came from Eglin, but checking further on the tail letters I see it all originated at Kadena AFB Japan.
ZZ = Kadena Air Base, Okinawa
EG = Eglin Air Force Base, Florida
And, the 33rd Fighter Wing does not fly F-15s anymore, they’re the training unit for the F-35.
You would know.
I was Army.
Once in awhile we would stop at Tuy Hoa and Tan Son Nhut to use the flush toilets and eat real food.
That’s what we’re here for, to help each other out.
And thanks for spending time in Vietnam.
I love dogs.
I just started reading a good paperback this week:
Bookmark for the AWACS/Pilot chatter.
I know, only kidding.
Only mountains in Florida are garbage dumps.
