If you qualify, and requirements vary from state to state, you will get an Assurance phone and 250 minutes of airtime with the Assurance Wireless program at absolutely no cost. If 250 minutes are not enough, you can get more minutes for a low monthly fee, or more minutes can be added as needed with Virgin Mobile Top-Up cards, ......you probably qualify for a phone from the company if you participate in Medicaid, Food Stamps/SNAP, General Assistance, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8), Home Energy Assistance Programs (HEAP, LIHEAP & E-HEAP), The National School Lunch Program’s Free Lunch Program, Supplemental Security Income (SSDI) or possibly some other public assistance programs.

What’s wrong w/trac phones?

We went to Trac 2 years ago and it is just fine, works everywhere, just buy minutes as needed. There are sales (2 for the price of one) on minutes all the time.

My husband went to mobile broadband to have affordable Internet at his office. You can’t download videos (too slow), but for text and email it is very affordable. See Broadband2Go.

We pay our own way, of course.

aka phonyphone ? Actually, looking at the posts above and how poorly the phones work, you’d have to say it’s the same as the rest of his promises.

tracphone is an AT&T reseller. when you get tracphone you get the AT&T network for better or for worse.

Has worked for us all over the country, even in the UP.

Actually, I need to check, but I thought it was Sprint, here.

It might be Sprint. At one time 90+% of what they sold was AT&T and the rest Verizon, but maybe they've signed a deal with Sprint now.
