Do we really need to send a thank you emails to Chief Justice Roberts?

Posted on 06/30/2012 11:42:56 PM PDT by trekdown

According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll:
" more than half of all registered voters - 53 percent - said they were more likely to vote for their member of Congress if he were running on a platform of repealing the law, up from 46 percent before the ruling."

Ruling ups support for Obama healthcare, still unpopular By Patricia Zengerle. Reuters, Jul 1, 2012
_____________

"Before you look to do harm to Chief Justice Roberts or his family, it’s important that you think carefully about the meaning – the true nature — of his ruling on Obama-care. The Left will shout that they won, that Obama-care was upheld and all the rest. Let them".

Justice Roberts -- savvy person or odd duck?
By Michael Goodwin. New York Post, June 29, 2012
____________
"There is speculation that Roberts ruled this way in order to help conservatives strategically, to leave Obamacare hanging around Obama's neck for the upcoming election. By asserting that Obamacare is funded by taxes, it now becomes just another tax increase that the Democrats will have to defend. If it is a tax, it may be the biggest tax increase in history. "

Thank you, SCOTUS. This Obamacare ruling fires up the troops as America’s eyes are opened! Thank God

If Republicans take the entire Congress and the Presidency and repeal the bill in it's entirety, I'll send him flowers for limiting the commerce clause while we got rid of Obamacare.

Otherwise, No.

But even then we’d be stuck with them being able to tax anything we ***don’t do*** for any reason.

A little overweight? Tax.
Refuse to have your kids vaccinated in case of Autism? Tax.
Don’t like vegetables? Tax.
Drive an old car? Tax.
Don’t have energy-efficient appliances? Tax.
Own a gun? TAX TAX TAX.

The list is endless.

If "If Republicans take the entire Congress and the Presidency" we will forget about your List. If dems will get them, "... the list is endless".

In the short term, yes, but eventually the Dems will be back in power. Can you imagine what they’ll do if they ever get the White House, House and Senate at the same time?

Yes, I can ... still remember some of the events that happened 2 years ago.

If this gets us to a 60 Seat Majority in the Senate, then I will thank him, but not before.

Let me add to your thought:

If this gets us to large enough majority in the Senate to impeach him, then I will thank him, but not before.

Dear Judge, Thank you for this...

No because now we know after all this effort and time we have a GD moderate court balance and a wishy washy chief justice

This a far bigger tragedy than just national healthcare debacle

Lifespans and numbers are now more loaded to their side than we thought before

Scalia and Kennedy are old.....

And there is never any doubt how the left wing ladies will vote

All for growing govt and ends justify means.....

This mistake will take decades to fix no matter November unless we win in the randomness of who dies first

The beltway ruins good men and women

Move SCOTUS to middle America..

Except we will need more than 60, the senate has rino’s galore in it....unless conservatives take over their seats than that would be great....

If the Reuters poll provides us with accurate results, and 53 percent of voters will prefer the Republican candidates, I will agree with Sarah Palin: Thank you, SCOTUS.

"Move SCOTUS to middle America..."

Unfortunately nobody knows how to do it, because the scotus judges are human beings too. Two of them - Anthony Kennedy & John Roberts - have broken by the constantly growing pressure from the left media...

Yes! We do. And thank you so much for reminding me before I forgot.

Dear Justice (heehee, Good One!) Roberts,

Many years ago, when my womanizing, worthless douchebag grandfather, William O. Douglas, was on his deathbed, he expressed to me a very great fear that the idiotic gibberish that he had written about "penumbras" and "emanations" for the majority opinion in Griswold vs. Connecticut would almost certainly stand as the most inane drivel ever written by a Supreme Court Justice.

Though it was quite difficult to assure him with a straight face -- even on that very solemn occasion -- that someone would certainly come along someday and write something even stupider given the rapidly deteriorating quality of the Harvard Law School, I must confess that none of the assembled witnesses on that day held out much hope.

So, please let me offer you a most sincere and heartfelt thanks on behalf of our entire deeply grateful family: Your opinion in the ACA ruling is truly a new low in terms of bad logic, inconsistency, silliness and -- let's face it, because there's no sense in sugar-coating it -- outright crap.

Thanks to you, my grandfather won't go down in history as the biggest dumb-ass in the history of American Jurisprudence.

Thanks Again, William O. Douglas's grandson Bobby "Big Dee" Douglas.
