On the previous post regarding your predictions,we pretty much covered all the candidates on the list. The media has spent a lot of time narrowing it down to Rice,Ryan,Potrman and Rubio. But how often do you hear any anchor mention John Thune,or the few at the bottom tier.John Thune is within striking distance,he is actually a safe pick, would help the west&rust belt.Rubio is still the best pick, but no one seems to know if Marco wants the job,or if Romney is serious about him.Regarding your predictions, like in the last post, pick your preference, and your second choice if Romneys pick declines the position.
Gene Simmons.
Thune was promising but turned out to be a RINO. No way. I think Paul Ryan is about the best bet.
I would much more prefer Ryan - but being quite conservative, and efficient, I seriously doubt that Romney will pick him. He is everything Romney is NOT!
I do not think it matters.
Unless Romney attacks BHO like he does conservatives, he will lose. (Even if he does, he will probably lose)
i am still predicting Paul Ryan (Romney has to win Wisconsin) and I have always been a big fan of Thune, even he would give a boost to the ticket.
A sure winner would be Michael Jordan.
Marco Rubio is really THE viable choice for vice president. a win win all around.
This election in 2012 has little to do with who is Romney’s VP pick, and everything to do with Zerobama’s record so far.
> Highest continuous unemployment since the great depression.
> Highest national debt increase per term of any president.
> First Downgrade of US Sovereign debt in history
> Lowest percentage of adult population employed since 1983.
> Highest dependency on federal benefit payments in history.
Nope. Haven’t changed my mind one bit about the VP candidate.
Any announcement should be delayed until AFTER the actual nomination has been made official at the convention. Mitt may have already made up his mind, but remember what happened when George McGovern made a selection of his VP running mate. A large number of names were offered, but it finally came down to Tom Eagleton, as it turned out, who was far too poorly vetted for the campaign. When rumors (and some facts) about Eagleton’s troubled medical history came out, he was hastily dismissed from the ticket and Sargent Schriver was called in as replacement. Too late, the damage had already been done, and the McGovern campaign was too badly wounded to make any headway. As it turned out, though, from the point of view of the Democrats, it was the best election they had ever lost.
The Watergate break-in was SO unnecessary.
Maybe it’ll be Hillary. /s
John Bolton
Personally, I think Bob McDonnell would be a good choice. A successful governor who can lock Virgina down for GOP collumn.
My guess is it will be Portman.
As I recall, McGovern was turned down by several of his top choices and only picked Eagleton becasue he was the first one he asked that would take it. And all this happened with the clock ticking. The only vetting they did was to ask him if he had “any skeletons in your closet?” That argues agianst waiting until the last minute.
Do the electoral math, narrow the scope down to a must-have state or region, then go a-huntin' for a household name Republican with a reputation for being conservative but a voting record that veers moderate.
Michigan, Wisconsin, Virginia, Florida. Other "battleground" states too, I suppose.
Who fits the bill? Southern or upper Midwest, well regarded as conservative but not really conservative. Boehner's brother by another mother, in other words.
He won't go for a woman, imho.
LOL Oh that’s brilliant!
Exactly what I was thinking. It doesn’t matter. It’s pretty much lost anyway. Beans, Bullets, and Bullion seems like a more sure bet at rate we are going.
I think Thune would be an excellent choice.
