As for this writing, America has TIED China in number of gold medals won at 18, however, the USA has the MOST overall medals at 37, with China second at 34. Japan is a distant third at 19.

And that’s previous to track and field. China won’t come close to the U.S. in T&F.
True, but there are too many events, and we have too much talent. (I believe) Look for women’s 110m hurdles, men’s 400m, men’s 4x400m, decathlon, women’s 400m, women’s 4x400m, and maybe some field events also.
I am looking forward to the women’s marathon. We have 4 awesome ladies there: Flanagan, Davila, Goucher and Hastings. I’ll be rooting for Kara Goucher!
I just hope we win the overall medal count. I don’t like the Chicoms or the treatment of their own people.
I’ll root for Goucher as well then.
She’s an awesome lady. Think about this, she’s qualified for the Olympic team less than 2 years after having a baby!
