Yes, I did it. (vanity)
Me

Posted on 08/03/2012 11:03:19 PM PDT by MacMattico

I did it. I'm ready for the flames.

I put a Romney bumper sticker on my car. But no cash from me until/if a decent VP is chosen.

I'm in upstate NY. I was ready for the comments as I had to travel all over today.

Eight people made comments, and one that made my gaydar go off gave me an "I don't think so girlfriend" look.

Of the eight that spoke, one screamed out "Obama!" which just made me laugh, and the remaining 7 said, to sum up "Yeah, Obamas got to go." One said it with a sigh as if he was greatly disappointed having voted for the President previously. Two of the seven that liked my sticker also told me I was brave and to be careful with that sticker on my car, which is sad in the USA.

Let me rephrase, then:

Who is the REALISTIC conservative candidate with a snowball’s chance in hell of winning?

Hoefling might get eight votes. NO delegates. NO infrastructure. NO budget. NO hope in hell.

A waste of time and effort.. and your vote.

I don’t think you have thought this through to the final conclusion.

I know people who thought their vote for Ross Perot was the right and honorable thing to do.

They are very embarrassed about it now and do not want to be reminded of it.

Let me rephrase, then:
***Why? You’re trying to separate conservatives on a conservative website from their conservative principles by getting them to vote for a librul. That aint conservative. This is not a republican website, it is a conservative website.

You want to be REALISTIC? The REALITY is, that regardless of which librul wins the presidency, conservatism has already lost.

So go and convert some 0bots into mittbots, rather than stir up discord with conservatives. All of us agree that this is the right course of action. So go and do it.

Perhaps you could persuade JimRob to change his mind, because he aint voting for a lying, baby-killing statist either. Do you think that he has not “thought this through to the final conclusion”?

Free Republic is not a republican website; it is a conservative website. Have you “thought this through to the final conclusion”?

As much as I don't like Romney, I like obozo much much less. Texas just voted Ted Cruz as our senate candidate, he will beat the dem in Nov and he will hold Romney's feet to the fire.

The saving of America begins the day conservatives stop supporting what they say they hate. Not a moment sooner.

You’re trying to separate conservatives on a conservative website from their conservative principles by getting them to vote for a librul.

I am? I thought I was asking you who is a viable conservative candidate.

You can't answer because there isn't one.

So now you have to resort to making up bullshit.

You expressed the desire to rephrase your question so that you can add REAListic to the equation.

I posted to you what the REALity is, that regardless of who wins, conservatism loses.

So the best thing to do is for you to go and convert some 0bots into mittbots rather than stir up discord with conservatives. Go and do it. And yes, what you are doing, right here, is sowing discord unless you back off and start converting 0bots to mittbots. That is not making up bs, as you accuse.

***I lived in Santa Barbara a few years back. Our conservative congressman did a pretty good job. Along came this republican dude with lots of money, named Huffington. he spent more on this congressional primary race than any other in history. He unseated the congressman. When the time came to vote, I could not pull the lever for this POS and wrote in the former congressman. Straight Republican ticket. Years later, Huffington admitted to being gay, his wife divorced him and started Huffington Post, and do-nothing congressman Huffington basically did more damage to conservatism than any democrat ever could. The seat has been firmly in the hands of a librul ever since. Writing in the conservative republican over that POS was the honorable thing to do.

“the seat is firmly in the hands of a liberal ever since”>>>>>>

Hey you are in California, what do you expect?

I remember the first thing a Californian ever said to me...... “the weather is here wish you were beautiful”.

That's all you got, good weather and nice scenery. Enjoy!

***We HAD a conservative republican. It took a RINO to unseat him. RINOs are even more damaging to conservatism than democrats. What do I expect? Other conservatives to learn this lesson.

Norm, I feel for ya.

All the backers of Bishop Willard, The Celestial Child From Planet Kolob, who approach me have the same MO: personal insults, ad hominem attacks, and strawman memes. Not a single one of them to date have given me reasons why I should vote FOR their guy. All I get is, “Vote GOP, we’re not as bad as the other guy.” “He may be a scoundrel, but at least he’s OUR scoundrel” “Oh, so you really like Obama, then?”...

They truly must believe that since they can’t convince people of the rightness of their position (which not one of them has tried), they must resort to coercing, bullying, insulting and intimidating people into voting their way. Voter intimidation is for the Black Panthers, not Free Republic.

I agree with you 100%.

Then someone will argue “Yes, but Romney won in the primaries/etc”. Someone on FR wrote of some kinds of dirty tricks at a state Repub meeting with Romney supporters basically kicking out anyone else. Can’t remember who it was.

AFAIC the elite establishment dee cee insider GOPers are WORSE than Dems, because we know that Dems are the enemy. The GOPers are traitors, and they are worse than avowed enemies.

but the sad part was it was like they had to reveal this to me quietly, tell me I was "brave" for sporting a GOP nominee sticker on my car and told to be "careful".

I live fairly close to Cambridge,MA.I suspect you've heard of it.I used to live even closer...in a very wealthy,*very* liberal town. While living there I had more bumper stickers ripped off my car than I care to recall. My car was even vandalized on a couple of those occasions...that is,the vandals were almost certainly the same individuals who removed the bumper stickers.Given that I have an almost new and not inexpensive car I'm reluctant to put stickers on it.Not that my putting a Romney sticker on my car would shake the Electoral College anyway....

Mr. RomneyCARE has always lied to Republicans.

You want proof?

“The Massachusetts Republican Party died last Tuesday.
The cause of death: failed leadership.

The party is survived by a few leftover legislators
and a handful of county officials and grassroots activists
who have been ignored for years.
Services will be public and a mass exodus of taxpayers will follow.
In lieu of flowers, send messages to Republican voters
warning them about a certain presidential candidate named Romney.”

- Boston Herald, 11/12/2006

"In 2006, while Romney was chairman of the National Republican
Governors Association - a group dedicated to electing more
Republican governors - his own hand-picked Republican successor
as governor lost badly to the Democrat, despite the fact that Republicans
have held the governorship in Massachusetts since 1990. Romney largely
ignored the Massachusetts elections and spent most of the time
during the campaign out of state building his presidential campaign.
He came back and publicly campaigned for the Republican candidate
the day before the general election!
“Locally, this is a rebuke to Mitt Romney and checking out within six months
after being elected and having accomplished almost nothing,”

[Jim] Rappaport [former chairman of the state Republican Party]."
- Boston Globe, 11/8/2006

"Governor Mitt Romney, who touts his conservative credentials to out-of-state Republicans,
has passed over GOP lawyers for three-quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he has faced
,
instead tapping registered Democrats or independents -- including two gay lawyers who
have supported expanded same-sex rights, a Globe review of the nominations has found.
Of the 36 people Romney named to be judges or clerk magistrates, 23 are either registered Democrats
or unenrolled voters who have made multiple contributions to Democratic politicians
or who voted in Democratic primaries, state and local records show.
In all, he has nominated nine registered Republicans, 13 unenrolled voters,
and 14 registered Democrats."
- Boston Globe 7/25/2005

Romney Rewards one of the State's Leading Anti-Marriage Attorneys by Making him a Judge
Romney told the U.S. Senate on June 22, 2004, that the "real threat to the States is not the
constitutional amendment process, in which the states participate,
but activist judges who disregard the law and redefine marriage . . ."
Romney sounds tough but yet he had no qualms advancing the legal career of one
of the leading anti-marriage attorneys.
He nominated Stephen Abany to a District Court.
Abany has been a key player in the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association which,
in its own words, is "dedicated to ensuring that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision
on marriage equality is upheld, and that any anti-gay amendment or legislation is defeated."
- U.S. Senate testimony by Gov. Mitt Romney, 6/22/2004 P>

"Romney announces he won't fill judicial vacancies before term ends
Despite his rhetoric about judicial activism, Romney announced that
he won't fill all the remaining vacancies during his term - but instead
leave them for his liberal Democrat successor!

Governor Mitt Romney pledged yesterday not to make a flurry of lame-duck
judicial appointments in the final days of his administration . . . David Yas,
editor of Lawyers Weekly, said Romney is "bucking tradition" by resisting the urge to
fill all remaining judgeships. "It is a tradition for governors to use that power to appoint judges
aggressively in the waning moments of their administration," Yas said.
He added that Romney has been criticized for failing to make judicial appointments.
"The legal community has consistently criticized him for not filling open seats quickly enough
and being a little too painstaking in the process and being dismissive of the input of the
Judicial Nominating Commission," Yas said.
