Milwaukee Freepers - The Sikhs can't get back into their temple to pray.

At the press conference a Sikh woman asked when they could get back into their temple to pray. She was told that it would be awhile because it is a crime scene.

I don't know any Milwaukee Freepers and I don't know the specific rules of Sikhs r.e. where they can pray.

It might be a nice idea for a church in the area to offer their space for the grieving Sikhs to come together in prayer. That is, if it's not anathema.

Sikhs are good guys and some bad-asses too.

That said, surely their prayers are heard wherever they say them.

I doubt anybody’s prayers are like a cellular network with blackout areas.

I agree with you. I assume, though, that their congregation might like to meet and pray together someplace, and it was just a suggestion.

I can see that never happening.
About 5 or 6 years ago, a small Catholic church in the area where I live burned to the ground. The priests went to all the other churches (including other Catholic churches) begging all over the area for just that, space to hold services.
After several weeks nobody offered.
My wife’s Buddhist temple heard of their plight and offered to move their own services from Sunday mornings to Sunday afternoons so that the space and time could be available for the church in need. The did this for a year and a half while the church raised money to rebuild.

Hm. That’s too bad.

In my area the Masonic Temple allows some groups to hold services.

No word yet. I believe the indication is that it was only one shooter.

The police said no more press conferences until 10am tomorrow.

The police did use the term “domestic terrorism.”

I lived in the area I’d help them.

They are good people.

Is this the crisis Ubama has been waiting for?

A second-hand witness says the guy had a 9/11 tattoo.

I certainly don’t believe there are any issues with allowing friendlies to use space in Churches.

Because it was directed against a religion? a church? a group other than vanilla people? What a load of crap this is. There have been many incidents of domestic terrorism, and yet Big Sis and this administration say for most instances that it is just workplace violence, crime, etc.

The DNC campaign offices or the Union Halls should be empty and available. ;-)

Sounds to me like he was some stupid, pumped up hick who was too lazy and thick to understand the difference between a sikh and a moslem.
You would think if you motivated enough to gear up with the intention of going down in a retarded, attention-seeking blaze of glory, you’d take some time and effort to do some research before going off on the only killing spree you’ll ever have the chance to do...

I really didn’t mean to engage in a debate about the event ... though, that’s fine. I was just wondering if there might be any Freepers in the area who belong to a church that might reach out to the Sikhs and offer them a place to join together and pray after this terrible event.
