A Georgia college student who cared for abandoned animals for nearly a decade was attacked and killed by a dog, police said.
Rebecca Carey, 23, was killed at her Decatur home sometime over the weekend, MyFoxAtlanta.com reports.
Authorities said Carey, who worked with dogs since she was a young teenager, had five dogs living with her at the time of her death. They included a pit bull, which she had owned for six years, a boxer mix and a Presa, a large Spanish breed. She was also dogsitting another Presa for a friend.
Careys body was discovered Sunday afternoon after she failed to show up for work at Alpharettas Loving Hands Animal Clinic. The dogs that she was caring for in her home were euthanized on Wednesday. It was unclear which dog killed Carey.

I'd be willing to take a guess.
I would guess that she got in the middle of two dominant male dogs that never should have been anywhere near one another in the first place. These aren’t the kind of dogs that just anyone can control let alone a pack of them.
She can stop wondering why these dogs were abandoned to shelters. Oh and, EUTHANIZE ALL PITT BULLS.. OR.. MAKE IT LEGAL FOR PEOPLE TO OWN TIGERS WITHOUT PERMITS!
Presa or the Pitt Bull, both are known for that. Presa dogs killed that woman in that apartment hallway in San Francisco.
“She was also dogsitting another Presa for a friend.”
Well, good deeds demand no rewards. They are fruits of the spirit, not saviors.
I have 2 male Dobermans from the same litter they are 1 year old and when they start acting aggressive all I have to do is Touch them and in a stern voice say no... They quit. But Pit Bulls...that’s a different story.
Here we go with the bash pit bulls thread.
It’s getting really pathetic.
This is the key sentence. She had another dog that was not part of the recognized pack and one her dogs got territorial with the visitor dog.
No kidding....
Two Presa Canarios
Larger and more lethal
Freepers act like sissy emo libs over Pits
Likely never had any experience with one
Score.
Wrong. Bain was a Cane Corso.
I was wrong, Bain WAS a Presa. Foot in mouth disease.
I have “known” a pitbull that guided my legally blind neighbor around town, sweet and obedient, never barked, let alone hurt anyone. They are dangerous dogs, but they are not wild animals, a good responsible owner can make them into a perfect pet or working dog. This lady did a good deed and was punished for it, the fault is not with her nor the dogs, but with the cruel cretins who abused these animals.
Just facts...sorry, look at how much they are involved in dog bites...and their actual percentage, I’m sorry facts hurt...
