Shock poll: Obama could lose Illinois, Romney leads in Chicago suburbs

President Barack Obama could lose his home state of Illinois in November, a new poll shows.

A poll conducted by Illinois-based pollster and political strategist Michael McKeon found Obama leading Republican Mitt Romney by 49 percent to 37 percent in Cook County, the home of Chicago. That puts him ahead by a far thinner margin than expected in a county he should be winning handsomely.

Cook is the most Democratic leaning county in the state. It is also the most populous.

Those numbers do not bode well for the president.

“He has to come out of Cook County with a big lead or he’s gonna have problems downstate,” explained McKeon, who said that based on the numbers he had seen, Obama polled only in the forties in downstate Illinois.

“It’s not like his policies are very popular downstate,” McKeon said. “He’s viewed as more part of Chicago than he is part of Illinois.”

According to the poll, which surveyed 629 registered voters last week, Obama’s problems are not in Chicago proper, but in suburban Cook County.

Registered voters too.

This poll has to be an outlier. No way does Obama lose Illinois.

What is best?

Seeing all the Union types I know around here getting ready to vote “R” for the first time in their lives.

(I just wish they had a real “R” to vote for. But hey - it’s a start.)

“I never seen so much intensity for voting against Obama than anyone one in my life”

One of the great unreported stories is the depth of outrage against O and his anti-capitalist, anti-Christian, and anti-American policies. The media doesn’t want to understand the anti-O passion.

If Romney/Ryan wins in November, there’s going to be a huge national celebration.

When we learn the truth about Obama's background - and we will - the question to be answered is: "why did the media work so hard to elect him and then to keep him in power?"

I'd like to see Matt Lauer, Brian Williams, Andrea Mitchell and the rest explain themselves to America after the made for television president is sent packing.

“Does the poll include dead people?”

What about the river wards (no one actually lives there).

My first order of business if we win will be to go to Media Matters and post the biggest “in your face!” comment ever seen. Then, I shall send an email to Piers Morgan telling him where to jump. Imagine the look of horror on Ed Schultz’ face! Chris Tingle will have a heart attack!

Screw Akin and his idiotic comments, we can win because Obama only has the enthusiasm of a few choice commies out there. The youth will all stay home and I have a hunch some of those “lean Obama” states will go our way. Not to mention Pennsylvania have made sure no “dead democrats” can vote. After seeing the fallout from the legitimate rape comment, I was wondering if it was all over, but seeing this has reminded me. Conservatives are tough enough to weather any storm. It’s the liberals who cry like little girls when the going gets tough.

“I am dreaming of an 1980 election night scenario. It was the first election night I remember (I was 9). To date it was the best.”

...in which we heard the lamentations of Walter Kronkite.

Has anyone ever noticed that the German spelling of Kronkite is Krankheit, which means “disease” in German?

Cook County? It’s been known as Crook County for as long as I can remember.

I never seen so much intensity for voting against Obama than anyone one in my life and I know God is in Charge but I need this election or I don’t know what I will do

Catch your breath, my FRiend, Romney/Ryan are in excellent shape right now. Here are a few things to remember:

1)The economy stinks, it's not gonna get better by election day, AND Obama owns it. He can try to cast the blame elsewhere, but Americans have traditionally held the President responsible for the economy, whether it's good or bad. This time will be no different.

2) Obama has managed, in less than four years, to p*ss off just about voting demographic in this country. Remember back to his early comment about "bitter clingers"? Lots of folks haven't forgotten. How about his "the private sector is in good shape" comment? And let's not forget his most damaging statement, "You didn't build that". Republicans don't have to define Obama, he's done a pretty good job of that himself.

3) In '08 Obama won the Catholic vote. But after his war on Christians, particularly the Catholic church, he's definitely lost that voting bloc.

4) The Dems claimed to be salivating when Romney picked Ryan, but poll after poll shows American seniors like Ryan and don't think his Medicare plan will hurt them. In other words, the typical Dem scare machine isn't working this go round.

There are many other reasons why I truly believe Obama is toast, but one of the biggest is simply, crushing disappointment. Obama's soaring '08 rhetoric, mixed with a gullible public and the MSM's complicity, created expectations that no President could ever match. And particularly a President so woefully un-ready to BE President. Team Obama has no clothes.

So once again, take heart my FRiend. Election Day is less than three months away and the end is in sight. Stay focused and stay on message.

Not in a million years will Zero “lose” Illinois. They already have a sufficient number of “votes” stashed in boxes around Chicago to assure his “victory.”

Yep. I’ll bet Mayor Rahmbo has a few thousand ‘O’ ballots in the trunk of his Mercedes right now. Obama won’t carry Chicago by 65 percent; he’ll carry it by 108 percent. Mike Madigan, Jarrett and company will see to it. There’s simply no other possible outcome.

>There will be a 200% turnout in Chicago, and of that 199% will go Dem.

Don’t forget, in the graveyards, there’s likely going to be a 600% turnout, and of that 1,000% will go Dem.

Yea, that is also another magical aspect of Chicago. It does not seem to bother the natives though.
