Okay, so much like Huck, you’re just digging in, regardless of how misguided your position, I understand your pride won’t permit you to flip to the correct stance.

No. Wimps. What the Republican Party is FAMOUS FOR. And what True Conservatives routinely and correctly castigate them for.

This is what your advocated tactics costs us previously.

In the wake of controversy, Lott resigned as Senate Republican Leader on December 20, 2002, effective at the start of the next session, January 3, 2003. Bill Frist of Tennessee was later elected to the leadership position. Senator John E. Sununu (R) of New Hampshire said, after Lott's election as Senate Minority Whip, "He understands the rules. He's a strong negotiator." Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R) said he's "the smartest legislative politician I've ever met."[14]

One race. Maybe.

We’ve lost tons of people, by refusing to fight back.

It’s long past time. And this time, the conditions on the ground favor our side, more than ever.

Dems circle the Wagons, you want to circle the firing sqaud.

we give up valuable advantages, the hang on to pariahs, we refuse to fight it.

Who are we losing? The pie-in-the-sky purists on FR? The third party losers?

Again, look at who’s singing from your songbook on FR. That’s all you need to know.

The Democrats drove Trent Lott out of the United States Senate, over an off the cuff remark at a f*ng Birthday.

We suffered unheralded losses because of Mark Foley, because we didn’t fight back.

Capitulation, is not a wining strategy, when you have the superior arguments.

Obviously people who understand TACTICS, better than you ; )

It is long past time to adopt William Tecumseh Shermans method of total war. (You might recognize the more recent ripoff called the Powell Doctrine)

Todd Akins has no winning argument.

Yes he does.

‘I misspoke, I did not drive a girl into a river, or be credibly accused of forcible rape’

No Democrat wants to make that argument.

He also has the Sandra Fluke argument, which while more esoteric, resonates with many people. The Democrats overreached on this, and its time to step on their necks.

Principle.

I cannot say this any simpler.

If Murder, and Rape by Democrats remains off the table for Republican counter attacks, and gaffes are the transgression for which we exterminate our own...we deserve to lose, and anyone embracing such a strategy should just register Democrat....

I do not get your analogies.

But clearly the sloppy beast got the opponent she wanted and is dying to keep him in the race

I don’t get them either. The only points I’m getting are the Dems are scumbags, the republicans are stupid and wussies hence we should hang on to Todd Akins so the scumbags can beat the hell out of us with him but dammit at least we will be standing up for ourselves. And at least he didn’t kill anyone. And oh yeah Trent Lott and newt. Makes no
Sense to me.

What is there not to get, the Akin argument is taking the ‘legitimate rape’ quote out of context, his overall foolishness notwithstanding.

the legitimate rape phrase is better understood in the context of say...Crystal Mangum.
(which is to say, many women cry rape ex post facto for reasons of their own)

In the larger context, the point is not that difficult to grasp.

Whenever someone brings up Aiken, you point out that the man Introducing the President didn’t misspeak about rape, he COMMITTED it.And you can always get Teddy K killing a woman in too.

If you’re going to fight, fight the right battles.

Internecine warfare makes you look both, weak and stupid.

The democrats get a free pass on their baggage, because the Republican party refuses to open it up.

That is BEYOND asinine.

This is not a defense of Akin, hes an idiot.

THis is a condemnation of the way the party has operated for decades.

Lott got pushed out of the senate for saying something nice at a birthday party for a man that served his country for decades. While he had a Democrat counterpart that remained in the Senate, having been a member of the Klan.

Keep turning the other cheek, keep flirting with minority party status.

Haven’t heard any of the Republicans mentioning any of these in response..

Republicans are good at eating their own.

I always believed conservatives were a little more farsighted.

We firgured out quickly that this guy could. not. be. salvaged.

And bringing up that Ted Kennedy was a killer and Bill Clinton is a rapist isn't going to help because, if it did, they would have paid a political price for their murders and rapes at the time.

It might make us all feel good to talk about but it's not going to win us any elections.

In the mean time every last House Republican is now vulnerable to talking about rape and abortion when we should be talking about this economic depression.

Could.Not.Be. Salvaged. is not the point. How much clearer can I make this.

This is not about winning one battle. It’s about fighting that battle on favorable land to win the war.
He said something dumb, and opened up a garage door size opening for Republicans to fight back, like Democrats do.

If Aiken does win...he’s a controlled pawn, if he loses...the Democrats are on notice, that our side will fight fair according to their rules going forward.

For people that claim to be convinced ‘we win on the arguments’ not fighting that battle, to get back to the arguments....is ludicrous.

Clinton is announcing the President. You really think they want guys like Cantor or Boner, o the Sunday shows making that point against Debbie Loserman Schultz?

The point isn’t to shout it from the rooftops, it’s the rhetorical equivalent of pulling back your jacket to show a gun when the criminal pulls a knife.

And as an added bonus (thank you Todd)The Democrats have the virulently anti Catholic Sandra Fluke speaking....A prime time in your face reminder of the assault on the First Amendment protection of religious liberty.

The only downside to this argument, currently is self inflicted. Once it was clear he would not leave, talking points should have been put together, and our side should not been bringing it up, except in response.

P.S. the American people favor our side in the Abortion argument..thats just another opportunity to point out the lefts extremism on the issue. FCOL OBAMA voted against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.

There is no argument that can be made against Aiken that does not play worse for the other side.

If you’re willing to take the gloves off.
