darling, i hate to break it to you, but those who agree with you on this are few and far between. AND if you look at who they are[on the linked thread], they are the hoefling/goode "vote-your-principles-not-pragmatically" voters. And as far as pundits go, who takes your view? So far as i know, it's hugh hewitt and some guy steve i never heard of. Those who are in favor of extracting his ass out of the race are everyone else with two brains rummaging around in their skulls : )

idealists who lose sight of pragmatism are useless. it doesn't mean that realists do not have ideals, it only means they look for the most practical means of achieving them. HERE is an example. you have freepers bitching about how prolife they are and how WRONG it is to support Scott Brown. WHO is scott brown running against? some PROLIFER? no, he's running against leftwing fauxcahontas. So does supporting Scott Brown further the prolife cause? YES IT does; eg; obamacare overturned [conscience exception] and prolife sup ct nominees. Ditto the Hoefling/Goode purists who scream about Romney, but when it comes to sup ct nominees, who is going to nominate prolife judges? ain't gonna be OBAMA, PROB going to be Romney, so votes for Hoefling/Goode do squat for the prolife case.

I generally agree but I’m finding the Supreme Court less compelling these days and I’ll tell you why: If Obama could bully Roberts that easily on Obamacare there is no way he could have enough spine to reverse Roe.
