Romney, who has had troubles this campaign connecting with middle-class voters, made the statement about his wardrobe during an interview broadcast Sunday on Fox News.
Just the other day, he said, his wife, Ann, bought him a three-pack of Costcos Kirkland-brand dress shirts.
Theyve very nice shirts, he told Fox News Sunday.
Hes wearing them all the time now, his wife then volunteered.
Im like, that shirt looks pretty good. I got it at Costco.

Maybe Sandra Fluke could pick up some birth control pills there.
I hope Romney didn’t plant this nonsense. The press completely overplays it and no one really cares. Romney is rich. He buys nice clothes. He doesn’t need to shop in Walmart with the rest of us. And if he does, fine, but don’t announce it.
This is what I hate about politics. This need to fabricate personas to appeal to the electorate. Hell, I’m not even remotely wealthy, and I don’t buy my shirts at Costco. My dress shirts come from Jos A. Banks. If I had Romney’s money I’d have them custom made an Deno’s in Highland Park, with all the other rich guys. If Romney weren’t campaigning, he’d be wearing whatever is equivalent to his locale.
No, he doesn't.
Next.
Memories of his: "I got a bracelet too" comment during his debate with McCain.
Gives me a chance to say my advice to Romney/ Ryan.
They are so busy being regular guys on the stump giving casual speeches.
Romney needs to get his suit and tie on, appear at podiums and deliver some formal speeches that explain things in serious detail. That will make the team look more presidential.
I don’t get the pandering of the poor. Even poor people stampede into the malls to get nice branded clothes.
Romney is a rich guy. He wears nice clothes. If he truly wants to connect, he should not hide his expensive clothes; instead, he should say how capitalism had made him rich and allowed him to enjoy life, including the option to buy expensive clothes, most likely not made in some third world sweatshop, employing hundreds of people. Instead, this wishy-washy opportunist gets clothes from a discount mass retailer just for the photo-op?
Agree 100%.
Obama would never be seen shopping at Costco or HORRORS!, ironing. He would not want anyone to think that HE might be the hired help.
I love Costco. And rich people like to save money too. 18 grandkids, 5 sons, 5 daughter-inlaws . . . I don’t see anything wrong with it. And yes I bought my husband a nice Costco dress shirt that he wore to our daughter high school graduation in May since he “outgrew” his other dress shirts and he needed a shirt. ;)
18 grandkids make Costco a good deal
I’ve heard Obama is not about to be shown up by Mitt and announced we will start shopping at thrift shops for all his clothes. However, Michelle has refused to follow suit.
Two items of note here ... the other day my wife saw him on TV and immediatly said “that’s a Land’s End shirt” (she used to work at Land’s End.)
So today, when I hear this, I dont doubt it ... however, I think this is part of a false flag ... Jim Senegal, former CEO of Costco is speaking at the DNC.
Note how the 'journalist' who wrote the article is presenting his opinion (which he probably originally got as a DNC-scripted talking point) as if it were a fact.
These presstitutes routinely substitute a phony narrative for original thinking and factual reporting.
Despite what many people believe, rich people do shop at Costco. I know some who do. Rich people stay rich by practicing frugality. Others never get rich because they are more concerned about what others think. (Omigod, what would my boss/neighbors/whoever think if they knew I shopped at Costco?)
In the words of the late Richard Feynmann, “What do you care what others think?”
Costco clothing is very high quality. Just wish they had some tall sizes.
hope Romney didnt plant this nonsense.

Yeah he did...
In 2008 there was a PR photo of him at the hotel laundry doing his own wash...
I cant remember what was wrong with the pic..
something Willardly weird...
He was pouring an unopened box of detergent flakes or something...
Those posed photo op photos are his are often so obviously phony...
Why does he have to BS and act like he is one of us. Just say what you are going to do as a leader. Nobody believes this stupid act. He never wore a shirt less than a couple hundred dollars and he definitely never ironed before. Just be yourself. It is nauseating to see this.
