A former fifth-grade teacher implicated in a cheating scandal reportedly gave students the illegal assistance because she thought they were “dumb as hell.”...

Schajuan Jones, who taught a fourth-grade class across the hall from Smith’s former room, overheard her talking to another teacher about the test.

“The words were, ‘I had to give your kids, or your students, the answers because they’re dumb as hell,’” Jones was quoted as saying about the interaction between Smith and the unidentified third teacher.

Yeah, I think that's about right when it comes to Atlanta's schools.

When somebody named Schajuan thinks you’re dumb, that’s pretty bad.

“dumb as hell’ should apply to the entire school board for hiring miscreants like her as teachers.

...it’s because their parents...not to mention their “teachers”...are dumb as...well, you know.

Wait’ll the government takes over health care.

I went to a Catholic school with about 1/4 the budget per student as NYC public schools and 48 students per teacher, but we could read and do sums.

This is pathetic.

‘I had to give your kids, or your students, the answers because they’re dumb as hell,’”

Rather than try to treat the symptoms, why not do something about the disease? Find out who was suppose to be teaching them their academics, and fire them.

(Support parential-based school choice.)

True story. I taught 6th grade math for part of one year in an ill advised attempt to start a new career. The previous teacher, one of Obama’s peeps, had a grade book and lesson plans she was supposed to turn over to me. She didn’t and kept making excuses as to why she hadn’t. In the meantime I learned that the kids’s could not do even 2nd or 3rd grade arithmetic. When the principal threatened the old teacher with disciplinary action if she didn’t turn over the records I got them. The grades were mostly As and Bs on quizzes, hw, and tests. The lesson plans followed the book. It was all BS. She made it up as she went along. The kids did whatever they wanted while she droned on at the front of the room. I gave them a test they had supposedly already had. None of them passed, the highest score was around 30. I told my supervisor and she said I had to pass them. Next test I worked the whole thing on the board the day before the class and grades were about the same. Next test I did the actual test on the board while they were supposed to be doing it. Only 2 or 3 passed and highest score was in the 60s. When I told my supervisor she gave me “busy work” sheets for the kids and told me to grade them. Even then over half the class was failing. I stuck it out to the end of they year but was extremely glad to get out of there. If you’re a parent, don’t, don’t, don’t send your kid to public school if you can at all help it. Public education is in far worse shape than even most of it’s critics realize.
