Love Him/ Hate Him. You Dont Know Him. This powerful caption on the promotional standee for this film makes a very captivating and thought provoking point. Those who love him love their own preconceived idea about him. Those who do not, for the most part, are individuals who depend on their self reliance to shape their future and the future of their children. These individuals not only see the handwriting on the wall in regards to the effect Presidents policies has had on their self reliance on the American domestic front, as well as on a national scale in the midst of an international alignment that will most definitely affect the United States ability to not only remain self-sufficient (should it remain a superpower), but also the primary foundation for all democracies worldwide. In other words, if America goes down, all democracies worldwide go down with it.
From Dinesh DSouza and the Academy Award winning producer of Schindlers list (as well as various other Steven Spielberg films) comes this very constructive, eye opening investigation regarding the past of President Obama, influences who shaped his worldview, and where we are headed as a country due to both. In other words, from a psychological frame of mind we are given the framework for the agenda the president has for America, and where it is destined to go until he leaves office.
At the beginning of this film, we see Dinesh DSouza compare his life with Barack Obamas. Dinesh came from India to America. Obama came from Indonesia to America. They both were born the same year (1961). They both graduated their Ivy League colleges the same year (1983). They both even got married the same year (1992). They both have a lot in common, but their future aspirations and impressions for America led them to take different paths. For one, Dinesh, coming to America from India, had high hopes for this country. Mr. DSouza states in the film that where he came from, your destiny is handed to you. In America, your destiny is basically left up to you. You write it. There is one particular part in this film where Dinesh recalls his heritage to someone who resembles a beatnik, and the man says that Dineshs country sounds so liberating. Then Dinesh, having the experience of living in his own country asks him, Whats so liberating about it?
The film then explores the environment Barack Obama grew up in. He reverts to excerpts from Obamas book Dreams from my Father, and actually interviews some of the natives that interacted with, and were close to those who raised Barack Obama and as such, were most influential in shaping Obamas worldview. In other words, what you find is a well-rounded view of perspectives from those who knew his family the best. It even leads to a couple of interviews with family members, including Obamas half-brother George.
As we get into the meat of the film, we see a worldview shaped, and his adolescent years nurtured by communist mentors (like Frank Marshall Davis, Member of the Communist Party USA, member # 47544) who had an FBI file that rendered him a threat to national security had a war actually broken out between the United States and Russia during the height of the Cold War.
We also see Barack Obamas invisible rise to power out of nowhere, a small glimpse into the psychology behind the cult of personality that rose him to global prominence, with practically no substantiated policy or executive experience (just smooth talk and an avid promotional machine), and how that is being utilized to thus permit the downsizing of America, the growth of other third-world nations (at the expense of American taxpayers), and also work to disarm our own nation (thats right, our own nation) and allies in the company of other more hostile nations (like China, Russia, Iran) that are boldly increasing their arms.
As a film I give it 4 stars, but not so much because of the informative content (although it is very thought-provoking). It was down to earth, informative, and reasonable. In other words, it is a film that not only appeals to Constitutional Conservatives, but disaffected Democrats, Independents, and Republicans who may lean more left than right. In other words, if you hold no affiliation to the Communist Party USA, The Democratic Socialists of America, or other movements like them, then it is next to impossible for someone not to give this film a try.
The Film is rated PG and runs 1 hour and 29 minutes

This is a great movie....all should see it. Just recently Obama’s half brother needed help with a doctor bill....he didn’t call the President...he called D’Souza and he gave him the money.
I’ve been checking for weeks. It’s finally in my town.
Heading out in 30 minutes to see it. Came to town last Friday. It plays five times a day at our theatre!
Absolutely love that pic. Priceless!!!
I saw it 2 nights ago at the local 18 theatre cinaplex
It was shown in what was probably the smallest theatre in the complex, but the room was 80% full.
For that reason, I recomend to everyone that they read The Roots of Obama's Rage to get the details to go along with the visuals in the movie. I'm thinking of going to see it again tomorrow (yes it is that good).
Seen it twice. Three viewings will be enough.
Great information to get out. Folks are waking up to what the prince of liars is doing in his Obama Nation of Desolation.
Just got back from seeing the film. Noon showing, about 90 percent full of mostly older folk. It got applause at the end.
There’s so much information in this film that makes it go by so fast, you would otherwise think it was a half an hour special.
For this FReeper, it did not go deep enough into Kenyan’s origin, missing past and background. I got more about the impostor here at FR.
For MSMed it should be good eye opener.
Great Documentary. My Wife and I have offered to buy a Ticket to the 2016 Movie for all “Obama Leaning” Voters in our family. Its spreading thru our Family now....
I saw this movie today with my daughter. The movie is very well-made and covers most the topics that we on Free Republic already know about Obama. His family and all of friends and role models hate(d) America.
I like Dnesh’s comparison of Obama’s and his similar origins, but how they chose different paths in life and arrived at different beliefs. I think Dnesh offers one of the better explanation’s for Obama’s political leanings that has yet been posited. He attributes his political instincts to the “anti-colonialism” impulse that shaped Obama senior’s world view. Dnesh makes very effective use of Obama’s own words with selected excerpts from Obama’s book, “Dreams From My Father”.
Although Obama’s relationship with Frank Marshall Davis and Pastor Wright is discussed in the film, I believe he could have spent more time on the subject, providing concrete examples of the philosophies that both men instilled in their acolyte, Obama.
Overall, it was a very good film. However, the people that should see it will never go to see it. Perhaps, some independent voters might be persuaded to see it.
I agree 3Fingas. Since most people would not sit through reading an entire book and spend days doing it about the president of the United States’s background, people would sit through an hour and a half of a more condensed, abridged version. Yes we Free Republic people know a lot about Barack Obama because our level of concern regarding our country via the political arena moves us to deeply research our facts and learn enough to get us moving and involved. Too many people do not have that degree of reverence. Many of them are “instant potatoes” people who decide on quick quips, momentary feelings, and what they hear from the media. However when misery drags on and is felt for a long period of time, people do have a tendency to feel smothered in the moment and anxious to change from the misery/inconveniences they are currently experiencing. Hopefully this dynamic is utilized in a constructive manner by the Romney/Ryan campaign, and the right things are said to get people thinking about the next four years, because if this guy gets four more years, his first four will seem like good times.
another great one, thanks so much for helping me maintain perspective and a sense of humor.
