When Amazon reports financials, they do not release the number of Kindles sold. IIRC, they report Kindle revenue as a whole, which includes e-ink units as well as the Fire.

Btw, I own an e-ink kindle. Some things are good for uni-tasking. Plus, I can switch between the kindle and the kindle app on my iPad and the last page read is synced between units.

If you don’t want it, I’d be happy to take it.

I did like my Kindle, but it's in the trash - I'll support the competition from here on.

Hate to break it to you, but if you throw out all the products from tech companies that support gay marriage... well, you better bring back your telegraph.

And what competition would that be?

If we have to go back to the telegraph, fine. When are the rest of you going to decide to fight this perverse garbage?

If conservatives don't fight back then we're just Leftist/pervert/abortionist/gun grabber enablers.

The most obvious competitor would be the Barnes and Noble Nook. BN has been historically liberal as well.

I think Sony may still have an eReader; I cannot say whether it is a good value.

Was that a no on sending me the kindle?

It would keep me from buying one and giving them still more money...

I admire your self discipline, but I’ll save my ire for companies that are overtly political, like GE. If I boycotted every company that’s spoken out for something liberal, I’d be a hunter-gatherer.

They are scared. They see the same thing happening in 2012 that happened to them in 1985: sensible consumers bought less expensive hardware that was more capable, while they tried to stave off the collapse of their market share by suing for "patent infringements" over ideas that were a) trivial, b) obvious or c) not even designed by them in the first place.

Samsung has eclipsed iEvil as the largest smartphone manufacturer world-wide. Don't let the fanbois at FR kid you: iEvil is skeered; and worse, every Android sold is an iPhone they don't sell, regardless of who actually makes it.

What are you using?

And I assume you are posting on a Linux machine since Ballmer and Gates gave to the same Wash St. initiative as Bezos and Apple is run by a gay guy....

The new Galaxy Note tablet is apparently thinner and all that. Seems really cool. Just don’t confuse it with the Galaxy Note phone, which is a little smaller and makes phone calls.

I was one of the people who ordered quite a bit through Amazon before I learned of their pro-homo stance. No more Amazon for me.

Hunter-gatherers with conservative principles sleep well at night...

Seriously, the lefty perverts are well-organized and fanatic. If we don't fight every way we can, our children will be stuck with the results. Look what the homo left did or tried to do with Chik-Fil-A. We have to be even more resolute and there have to be sacrifices.

I was an ideal Amazon customer: I spent all sorts of money on them until the gay marriage thing and then I cancelled my Prime account and wrote letters and e-mails to Amazon explaining why they wouldn't see another dollar from me. If we can get enough people to do this, companies will stop supporting the nihilists.

My big sacrifice is buying from Barnes and Noble now and reading the books I already have.

If I have to hunt and gather, so be it.

I admire your chutzpah but if you're owning my Kindle and ordering Amazon's books/movies/newspapers, I'm still supporting Amazon, if only through your money - right?

I want the bastards to realize that there economic consequences to taking sides.

I do like your style, though...
