"Mr. Romney does not have a plan to turn things around. All he's saying, and correctly so, is that Mr. Obama said he had a plan that would work and it didn't," Stein said. "But does Mr. Romney have a better plan? If he does, we haven't seen it."
The former speechwriter for Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford went on to say he's not satisfied with Paul Ryan's approach to taxes.
"He has bought into what I think is a bit of nonsense about supply-side economics. He has bought into the idea that by cutting taxes, you automatically spur the economy. That would be wonderful if true, and it may be true, but there's no data that it's true, he said. "And it certainly isn't true that by cutting taxes you spur the economy enough so you make up the lost tax revenue."
big Al franken supporter!!!
I suddenly believed that Romney is a losing candidate when I read that he backed off repealing obamacare.
Gone off the rails....a BIT?
Ben is actually an ideological train wreck now ....having boarded the liberal choo-choo quite a while back.
Just because this owlish little cartoon character is such a fetching, droll gnome doesn't make him all the less subversive in his comments or all the more intelligent with his aid-and-assist-the-enemy observations.

I fail to understand how an educated Ben Stein would support an administration who fails its allies and is destroying an economy to favor a slide towards communism. Wake up Stein! Have you been watching the was Israel has been treated lately?

Excellent response. We haven’t seen the plan... Ridiculous.
Thanks for the link. This is the second time today one of us ‘lowly’ freepers has succinctly addressed the statement of ‘no specific’s with a link to Mitt’s own website WITH the specifics. For some reason, the candidates are sticking with generalities and not reciting their own plan. It is frustrating.
I understand holding back before the DNC so they don’t have a forum to bash it without the benefit of responding, but now is the time to lay contrasts and tie Obama’s policy to the crappy economy.
If Romney continues to play Mr. Milquetoast I will not vote at all .
Huh?
I have my own healthcare plan and it does not require Obamacare to make our healthcare system work better, Romney promised. Obamacare is a disaster in my opinion, and has to be repealed entirely.
But that doesnt mean that we cant do some important things to improve our healthcare system like for instance, getting medical malpractice reform, taking actions to lower the cost of healthcare. And of course, people shouldnt be able to be dropped from their insurance if they get ill. These are all parts of the plan that I put out in Michigan, oh, a year year and a half ago describing my healthcare plan.
If Ben Stein were saying Romney is a winner. Politico would not care. The media is scandalous.
Mr. RINO Has-Been speaks.
Mr. RINO Has-Been speaks.
Yep. Romney is first and foremost a big-government technocrat, and if thinks he’s got anything to prove, it’s that he was right with Romneycare. He’s simply eager to get under the hood and tinker with how Obamacare is structured bureaucratically.
Even his state by state ads now are making promises to create x-amount of jobs for this state, and x-amount of jobs for that state. The same that he personally is promising that as president he’ll assure that every kid has a great teacher and a great education.
All of those promises come from the heart of the pure bureaucrat. That’s who he is.
But still we have to, as I will, vote for him in November. Sigh.
While you’re wrapping your head around that, you might as well wrap your head around all the Jewish voters who have the same views.
Ben needs some Clear Brain drops.
It's not hard for me to understand at all.
All I have to do is look at the last few days here and see the hand wringing.People know that Obama is the candidate of the media, yet they continue to let the media work their magic.
Poor Ben. He still thinks that raising taxes helps the economy.
A broken clock.
