Stephen Keith, left, plays Doc Holliday, in a production he wrote, directed and produced at the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, with, from left, Aaron Gain (Frank McLaury), Craig Oldfather (Wyatt Earp) and Jim Morris (Morgan Earp). “We have founded our entire economy on a 30-second triple homicide,” Keith says. “Without the gunfight, this town would be rubble in the desert with a pretty name.”

Keith does a great Doc Holliday. He physically resembles Doc and acts the part better than anyone I’ve seen on the big screen. I’d love for someone to put together a movie for him to expand his portrayal.

Gee, an OK Corral movie? That’s original.

Here is what I saw at the Saturday gunfights in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The man is out of his jurisdiction.

Back in the 1960s there were so many movies about the gunfight at the OK corral it got tiresome.

Then a new one was made called YOUNG BILLY YOUNG with Robert Mitchum and Angie Dickinson.

Good cast, good director. The movie stunk! It looks as if they lost heart half way through and finished it on the cheap. I wanted 90 minutes of my life back after seeing it.

There was NO Wyatt Earp or Doc Holiday (Names were changed), but if you know the history, Jack Kelly played Johny Behan who tried to stop the Earps from the gunfight..

Then there was DOC with Stacy Ketch and Fay Dunaway in 1971. A much better, and rougher film.

Many of the films show Ike Clanton and Doc Holiday killed at the OK Corral. They weren’t.

My personal favorites are TOMBSTONE and MY DARLING CLEMENTINE.

And not a single one got the corral right.
