Why Are the Two Parties Still Celebrating Immigration
Foster PC ^ | Sept. 6th, 2012 | Howard Foster

One thing that the two political parties chose to showcase at the national conventions is the so-called American immigration success story. The Republican “keynote” speaker was Sen. Marco Rubio, who defines himself as the son of immigrants. To him the U.S. is a great country because he has thrived here. The implication is that immigration is good, and we need more of it. I found it interesting that he did not expressly say this. He is no doubt aware that immigration is a controversial political topic and that there is merit to the restrictionist point of view. Nevertheless, the Republican party decided Rubio’s pro-immigrant story had more political upside than downside.

Julian Castro, the mayor of San Antonio, told the same story as the Democratic Convention “keynoter.” Though as I note below, his mother is quite different from Rubio’s parents in outlook. I am thoroughly disgusted with these political speeches. (Disclosure I am the product of the great wave of 1880-1920 immigration.) What do these stories prove? That Americans should welcome more immigrants regardless of the high unemployment rate? We can stipulate that the U.S. has admitted tens of millions of immigrants, the bulk of them between 1880-1920 when the nation was transformed from an agrarian/merchant society to an industrial powerhouse. We did not have sufficient workers to staff the enormous plants that were built, to construct vast canals, railroads, and cities. So the country invited in workers, and they came. This does not mean those workers are morally superior to the earlier Americans who came primarily for religious liberty, such as the Puritans and the Pilgrims or simply to colonize the New World for their countries. Yet in discussing immigration, we inevitably end up with the former group that came over for unskilled labor.

But we need to keep in mind after the huge wave of immigration the country changed course. In 1921 immigration was cut by 90% and national quotas were imposed so that future immigrants would primarily come from western Europe. There was tremendous concern that we had overdone it with immigration and that we needed to preserve the basic socio-ethnic make up of the country. Thus, we passed from an era of welcoming immigration for employment to an era of selective immigration primarily for family reunification. Since then each new immigrant has to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis taking into account their family ties and ability to find gainful employment higher up the socio-economic ladder. The government has long ago acknowledged that our economy no longer needs unskilled workers, and allowing more of them into the country harms American citizens with high school educations.

We all know that the great wave of 1880-1920 immigration produced millions of success stories. Those immigrants immediately found employment, were loyal to the U.S., and had families who were better off. This is a chapter in American history which is closed. One could hold up Cotton Mather and John Winthrop as examples of the first wave of American settlers whose success here followed their expulsion of non-believers from the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Arguably they had more influence in shaping the nation by defeating competing European powers with different designs for how society should be run (the French, Dutch and Spanish) and enabling the colonies to unite as an English- speaking nation governed by the English common law. Why do we honor them only on July 4th?

For some reason though, American political discourse is mired in the 1880-1920 period. It’s as if we’re looking at old news reels from that period or watching films like the The Jazz Singer with Al Jolsen. Immigration today is not only unnecessary but is counterproductive. How can policy makers justify a million legal immigrants a year when 8% of American citizens cannot find employment? In Marco Rubio’s case, his parents were only allowed into the country because they were fleeing Cuba, and in the Cold War, we welcomed them. Rubio’s father, a bartender, added nothing to the U.S. labor market. We did not have a shortage of bartenders in the 1950′s. We can take pride in the fact that his son became a U.S. Senator and has made a modest contribution to the nation. But that is not a justification for going back to the 1880′s and allowing a tidal wave of unskilled immigrants into the depressed labor market today. So why bring it up? We already know about this generation. Senator Rubio should not become a political leader becausue his father was a bartender or that he is Hispanic. His speech said little else, and the implication of it is that we we need more immigrants. One can categorize it as reactionary and nostalgic.

More recent immigrants often seem to live as dual citizens, not really renouncing their loyalties to their native nations, despite oaths to the contrary. I have met hundreds of legal and illegal immigrants from Mexico and Guatemala in the course of my work suing employers who hire them. A majority of these people return to their home countries regularly, and often maintain businesses in their native communities. They send back remittances, money which is not spent in the U.S. and does not increase demand for Amercian goods and services, a justification for greater immigration. Their attitudes toward this country are ambivalent. Do they really regard themselves as Americans? Or are they multi-cultural and biligual? Mayor Castro, the Democratic keynoter, introduced his mother, Maria “Rosie” Castro, during his speech. She is active in a group called “La Raza,” which in English means “the race.” Which race? The Hispanic race. LaRaza is a pressure group favoring increased Hispanic immigration to the U.S. and provides social services to illegal immigrants here. She has made her ambivalence about this country known in stark terms, stating about the Alamo, “I can truly say I hate that place and everything it stands for.” What the Alamo stands for is the American conquest of forces loyal to Mexico. Apparently she resents a great deal about this country. I don’t know if her son shares this view, but he made a point of defining himself as her son, highlighting the immigrant aspect of his biography for political advantage while glossing over the fact that his mother is a radical ethnocentric anti-assimilationist.

Rather than Rubio and Castro, I would rather have seen a speech by an American citizen who has invented something, a product or idea, which has succeeded and become a social benefit against the odds. Bill Gates comes to mind. His story is more relevant and compelling to us today. I would also like to hear the stories of high school graduates who cannot find jobs. They would tell us that wages are so low they cannot survive on one job, that some employers prefer illegal immigrants to citizens, that college tuition is unaffordable and less attractive to them anyway because college graduates seem to be unemployed as well. They are the people the parties should be trying to help. Their stories are worth examining on the national stage, and their implicit message is anti-immigration.

Howard's a great guy and fearless. He's successfully sued a number of criminal companies and the decisions in those cases are being used to push more and more of them on the miscreants of corporate America.

That said, no one in power gives a rats behind about the articulate arguments made here.

They're too scared they'll be called racist, or something.

Both parties simply pass whatever laws lobbyists want. Big business lobbyists want a nation of poor employees who will work cheap.

Unfortunately, big business also wants a nation of customers who are rich.

Corporate American hasn’t thought that far ahead.

That’s why they backed a marxist/wannabee muslim in 2008.

I’m glad someone is saying this. Immigration is such a sacred cow, it’s like nobody is allowed to criticize it. Every politician pays lip service to us being “a nation of immigrants” and advocates for even more legal immigration. No! We need a moratorium on ALL immigration, and it’s time somebody said it. If someone whines and complains because they, or a loved one, can no longer come here, I would just say, “Thank an illegal alien.”

Democratic convention keynoter, San Antonio Mayor Juan Castro, introduced his mother to viewers. Maria “Rosie” Castro is a radical ethnocentric anti-assimilationist, active in “La Raza”---- a race baiting organization funded with our tax dollars.

La Raza is a pressure group which lines up illgal latino voters for vote-crazed US politicians .....who then suckup in favor of more and more Hispanic immigration, and endless tax-funded social services to illegals.

RAZA STUDIES TOSSED OUT OF ARIZONA SCHOOLS Raza Studies does not even try to sugar-coat its anti-America agenda and its bloodthirsty plans to killoff Americans :

One Raza Studies textbook titled “Occupied America,” by Rodolfo Acuña, includes a violent and blood- curdling speech given by university professor Jose Angel Gutierrez: “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is, if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him,” (pg. 323).

This is taken directly from Occupied America (pg. 167): “Supporters would execute all white males over age 16,” (this is AKA the Plan of San Diego).

America-hating Raza Studies teach violence and undermining US ntl security----and preaches the need for Mexico to "re-take seven states in the Southwest...in order to make the SW a Chicano nation.

NOTE WELL: Adelita Grijalva is the woman on the Arizona school board pimping La Raza/LULAC/Mecha/MALDEF indoctrination programs in Tuscon schools.

Adelita is all up in arms about Raza Studies getting tossed via the AZ state legislature's action...she is the daughter of Raul Grijalva (D-AZ-7) who was just narrowly re-elected to our US Congress.

Cong Raul Grijalva is one of Mexico’s most productive
and loyal Fifth Column in the US Congress....aiding and
abetting the latino criminal underworld, colluding to
take back the SW, and loot and pillage the US treasury.

The super-secretive criminal latino underworld is now infesting the US political system.

The collusive tight-knit coterie of conspiratorial political operatives have one goal----to loot the public treasury, and act as a pressure group to advance the Third World's ambitions.

All attempts to lift the veil of criminality is met with cries of foul. But that should not be a deterrent. There's an abundance of evidence.

======================================================

"American Greed," the excellent CNBC cable series, showcased the nefarious activitues of Cali's "Financial Plus" in which two Mexicans targeted latino immigrants in a fake investment scam to "invest home equity" via the then-booming Cali real estate cycle.

The father/son Mexican shysters bribed and colluded with a latino BofA insider----Donny Gonzales---to falsify bank documents. Father and son shysters---Juan and Harold Rangel---- ran Spanish language ads--and got $35 million from about 500 latino homeowners----hamburger flippers, lawn mowers, and such, who cannot even speak English. One latino woman had $200,000 to invest (that she lost to the Mexican shysters).

(/Snix) Where do these "impoverished" latinos get all this money to invest? The answer is they, too, are scamming---they are scamming the US govt and stealing from taxpayers. American taxpayers working for a living are slaving to pay taxes and household expenses----but the latino criminal underworld is well-organized---their henchmen are pouring over the border to rig the system for themselves---riding the US gravy train under multiple fraudulent identities. And jerks like Obama are aiding and abetting these frauds.

=========================================================

ANOTHER KINGPIN HOLDING PUBLIC OFFICE---FEATURED DEM CONVENTION SPEAKER JUAN CASTRO---Every govt budget, agency, and bank account under San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro's control should be examined with a fine-tooth comb for government fraud, racketeering, conspiracy, collusion, nepotism, secret LLC accounts, and money laundering, wire fraud, tax evasion, etc, etc, etc.

=========================================================

OBAMA APPOINTS LA RAZA LOBBYIST CELIA MUNOZ TO KEY WH JOB We now have the most racist and divisive President in history. No other president has appointed an individual who was colluding with a foreign country to undermine the safety and security of US citizens.

"La Raza" is a racist and anti-American organization. It's core goal is to overwhelm the American Southwest with illegal immigrants from Mexico who will eventually cause the region to break away from the US and become Mexican territory. In addition, "La Raza" has a more general leftist, pro-Islamist, anti-Western civilization global bias, as can readily be gleaned from the writings and statements of its leaders past and present. They're very much in tune with Ohaha's ideaology. =================================================

EXCERPT America’s foreign policy emanates from the domestic condition of its society, and nothing will affect that society more than the dramatic movement of Latino history northward.

Mexico’s 111 million people plus Central America’s 40 million add up to half the population of the United States.

Eighty-five percent of all Mexico’s exports go to the United States, even as half of all Central America’s trade is with the U.S. While the median age of Americans is nearly 37, the median age is 25 in Mexico and even lower in Central America (20 in Guatemala and Honduras, for example). --SNIP--

Hispanic organized crime is here in a big way. The FBI once cracked a document fraud ring that was responsible for 3 million fake documents in Los Angeles County ALONE! This criminal ring also did business in 33 states. This was only one document fraud ring, who knows who many others are out there.

Mexican organized crime has whole outfits working for them here. No problem to cross the border since many Mexicans work in the government, they can easily produce fake documents for their fellow criminals from across the border. Sanctuary cities make the perfect hideout for organized crime. Don’t be surprised if many of those politicians who provide a safe harbor for illegals are getting their share of the *skim* from the drug business or other illegal businesses that go on right under their noses.

Massive immigration serves the interests of the Democrats. It does not serve the interests of Americans who have to compete with the millions of immigrants who come to our shores every year. Cheap votes for Democrats, cheap labor for corrupt businesses, nothing for Americans.

Absolutely not to mention race loyalty. They have race based organzations to back them. LaRaza and the Hispanic Caucus for example.

Why conflate legal immigration with illegal immigration?

Conservatives are usually for legal and regulated immigration of desirable citizens, and we cheer on their success, they are part of what makes America the greatest nation on Earth.

What conservatives are against is illegal and unregulated illegal immigration of undesirable criminal aliens who commit crimes, and engage in illegal labor.

Thanks for the input. The latino criminals come in every shape and size. Read on.

There's the notorious California murder case of the bi-sexual Mexican latina who conned her way into marriage to a wealthy lonely American---secretly scheming to take him for everything he had. Rebecca Salcedo told friends she planned to marry Bruce Cleland, have a child, and then divorce him, collect child support and be "set for life." Prior to their marriage Salcedo stole Cleland's credit cards to buy furniture and breast augmentation. The lusty latino slept with various men and women while telling her fiance she was too "virtuous" to have sex with him before marriage.

Three months after the elaborate church wedding and country club reception, she filed for divorce, but Cleland did not want a divorce and balked at signing divorce papers giving her everything. So she forged his name on million dollar insurance policies and schemed w/ two Mexican cousins to ambush Cleland in a faked carjacking.

After her cousin shot Cleland dead, the grieving widow retained counsel to grab all the assets---a company life insurance policy that paidout half of Bruce Cleland's $100,000 annual salary, a company accidental death policy for $517,000; another $25,000 accidental death policy; a life insurance policy that paid the mortgage balance; and $196,000 in Cleland's stock savings plan.

After the murder, her co-conspirator/cousin/lover/shooter Alvaro Quezada continued to live with her--they were often seen hugging and kissing. At the crime scene, the stupid Mexican told police the carjackers took her expensive diamond engagement ring---yet the weeping widow showed up at the funeral wearing the very same ring.....this was only one of her screwups which got her life without parole.

Rebecca Salcedo, and her two cousins, Alvaro Quezada and Jose Quezada, were convicted of (1) conspiracy to commit murder, (2) first degree murder, with special allegations, that, (3) the murder had been committed for financial gain, (4) while lying in wait.

=========================================================

6/19/12 DATELINE-NBC Bike Path rapist/serial murderer---Altemio Sanchez.

For years he was considered a model citizen, ideal husband and father, Little League coach, a proud latino w/ a steady job.

But in reality he was a savage rapist/murderer and had committed heinous crimes for years on end. He was completely without conscience.

Dateline broadcast pics of Sanchez smiling and laughing at a party sitting beside his wife just hours after he had murdered a woman. This "model citizen" let an innocent man rot in jail for 23 years for crimes he--Sanchez---committed Sanchez had unconscionably participated in a commemoration event for one of his victims. All his victims were Americans.

Sanchez pled guilty to 15 rapes and three murders but Buffalo, NY police say he actually committed 22 rapes...and possibly even more murders. He was sentenced to 75 years in prison.

simple....when We the People let illegal immigrants ...people without citizenship-off the hook for breaking the law...it makes it more difficult for We the People to then turn around and successfully prosecute the John Corzines, our “fellow citizens” for their brazen theft.
