The Colorado climber criticized for abandoning his injured dog on a mountain has agreed to give up custody of the dog to one of its rescuers.

Anthony Ortolani, 29, originally said he wanted custody of his dog Missy when she was rescued by a team of hikers after surviving eight days on the mountain. Since then, Ortolani has received intense criticism and even death threats over his decision.

“he reason I don’t own a dog and will not buy one for my family is that there are too many humans who will kill other humans over their concern for a dog.”

Really? THAT’S the reason? Name a single incident that one human killed another opver a dog. That was utter BS.

We got our dog from a place that rescues abused dogs...I would never leave her on top of a mountain to die...Even though she weighs more than I do, i’d have gotten her down, no matter what...this guy’s an idiot-stick...

Yeah, I read it.

Seems to have been an “issue” regarding “numerous posters” with identical IP numbers supporting him.

Ain’t technology great?

I know.

I like to needle and stir Alma’s wrinkled old derierre, too.

Maybe one of these days Alma’s head will simply explode.

The biggest problems conservatives have has been letting liberals have the last word and the loudest say. No more. Shout the idiots down and make them answer for thier stupid comments.

Actually, I don’t think anyone could ever accuse of me being too “soft” or “quiet” with my opinions.
LOL

That’s why I posted links to the azz-whooping Alma got the last time.

I’m too busy today to re-reiterate.

;D

Got a link from another forum that the rescue group appeared on "Ellen" yesterday (Monday). Not my favorite talk show host by a longshot but she did a good interview:

A Heroic Animal Rescue

As one person in the group said, this was eight total strangers who came together to rescue an animal none (except the husband/wife) had ever met. This is what individualism is about and what determination in pursuit of a goal can accomplish.

It looks like this thread has calmed down, so I don’t feel too guilty about asking you a boa question.

I just read on the internet (so it must be true, lol) that certain species can procreate without male/female interaction.

Boas were the chief species mentioned.

Is this true and have any of your legless loved ones had virgin births?

I tried to Google for an answer, but my internet security kept giving me..”Dangerous site” notifications, lol.

Just thought I would ask you since I know you are an informed reptilian lover.

I don’t know about parthenogenesis in Boas being really common *but* a herp forum member recently announced that his female Brazilian Rainbow Boa recently gave birth and he has had her for 15 years and she has never been with a male.

It’s caused quite a stir over there.

Sadly, only one of the two babies has survived.
One of them just passed away due to refusal to feed.

If you google ‘parthenogenesis in snakes’ you’ll get a bunch of hits.

Other reptiles are capable of it, too.

Little miracles, they are.

Ellen’s “lifestyle” gives me the willies *but* the woman has a serious heart for animals and has created arguably the best dog food on the market.

It is called HALO and is available for cats and dogs, uses -only- human grade food ingredients and the stuff has NEVER been recalled.

http://www.halopets.com/

*And* she has donated many, many tons of HALO pet foods to this girl’s wonderful and incredibly successful cause.

[you can bookmark it and ‘play’ every day...whether you get the question right or not, food is donated for every game played]

Thanks for the video.

I love happy-tail endings.

:)
