That Can-o’-worms was just too much temptation not to kick over was it? :)

Those are all physical things that a monkey can do....cats are intellectually superior....and can do ‘tricks’ if they feel the need.

Yup. With most cats who don't perform for tests, I picture them thinking, "ahhh ... they'll feed me anyway."

I used to make my cats jump to get little pieces of chicken breast. He was a big guy (18 pounds) and would do a semi-jump and then complain, hoping we'd lower the chicken or just give it to him. He really didn't like having to perform for his treat.

Then one day, undetected, I watched him trough the kitchen window. For some reason, he was motivated to jump on top of the four foot high chain link fence. He not only easily made the jump, but he was able to balance on the top of the fence without difficulty. The faker!

I've never met a cat that would fetch me my slippers.

Yes.

See, that's kind of the point, GSC.

Obama loves dogs; he just can’t eat a whole one by himself.

All my dogs are smart, earn their keep and very grateful for everything they have.

Therefore, they must be conservatives.

Our one cat does nothing of any use whatsoever, is nasty for no reason, destructive, lazy and shiftless and has no sense of gratitude in any way, shape or form.

He seems to think he’s entitled to everything he’s given.

The cat is obviously a liberal.

Well our cat knows exactly where the invisible fence limit is for the dog.. and will lay just outside that limit so that all the dog can do is continually bark at him..

“while the cat photographs are...... well just cats!”

Which is about all they can ever aspire to be...just cats.

;]

[I’ll grant you though...watching our cat freak out over his own shadow and then run hysterically into a wall is pretty danged amusing..in a pitiful “Bless his heart” sort of way]

LOL! I can just see that happening! We had a cat that liked to get to boxes and shopping bags etc. and pee. One day after doing his favorite thing he got his head through the shopping bag handles and instead of backing out he raced forward. The rustling of the paper scared him even more and before we could catch him he had bounced off of several walls and a few pieces of furniture. I was afraid he had broken his neck or cracked his skull but after a few minutes he was OK.

Dogs are generally offensive to muslims. That’s good enough for me.

In my teen years and into my 20's I had a pet dog named C'llide. He was exceptionally intelligent but a little high-strung. One rainy day one of my parents had leaned a (closed) umbrella with a hook handle against the wall next to a glass patio door. That door was C'llide's window on the world, and he'd lay in front of it to scan the yard for squirrels, and if he saw one, and we'd let him out, he'd be like a missile, flying off the back porch headed for the rodent, a number of which met their demise at C'llides jaws over the years.

Anyways, C'llide saw something outside that got him agitated and he began barking and hopping around. As fate would have it, he knocked the umbrella over in just such a manner that the hook handle got caught under his collar. He made a little tug to get away from it, but the second he realized it was "following" him, he made a mad dash to get away from it.

Needless to say, the umbrella "chased" him under the dining room table, where it caught on a chair or table leg and opened the umbrella. Now, not only was C'llide being chased by a strange entity, it had grown in size and was getting closer, so he ran hell for leather through the house trying to get away from his pursuer, and in doing so, knocked over a fish bowl, several potted plants and their plant stands, and God only knows what else. Every time he speeded up, so did that damned umbrella!

He’s very “spayshul” and commits random acts of massive stupidity all the time.
